oh god, you just reminded me of the chinese restuarant I sometimes visit with my family in stockholm, the, how to call it, "water-boiled beef" is fucking insane, it's this szecuan spiced soup that's hard to describe but it's probably the tastiest thing I've ever had aside from stuff I ate as a child

there's a hole in the wall that is run by an old chinese couple who have a really good deal on the lunch special for like $6-$7; one entree, rice, wonton, and eggroll. they have a really good garlic chicken that i order "extra hot" and it comes out to the perfect level of spicy.
the only other chinese place i go to is a medium sized sit down restaurant with $12-$14 entrees. whenever i go there i get the lunch special szechuan chicken and subgum pan fried noodles with chicken (these two dishes make for two+ meals for four). the lunch special is initially served with hot tea and ~6-8 servings of hot and sour soup with pork. hands down the best hot and sour i've had, there was only one in vegas that was comparable. for dessert i always ask for a free almond jello to cleanse the palate.
