One time when I was a young child shopping with my parents, I went to go and grab a bottle of ginger ale. But on the way to the aisle I noticed a shopping trolley full of bottles of the ginger ale brand I liked (it was pretty common practice for the supermarket we were in to leave shopping trolleys stacked with one product around the place). I reached over the top of the trolley to grab one but all of a sudden a man who i thought was just standing next to the trolley swivelled round and grabbed my arm. The fat old pig legitimately had 30+ bottles of ginger ale in his cart, along with 5 or so mars bars which i only noticed then. I tried to apologise and say that I'd just made a mistake but he started lecturing me about "respect for elders" and "respect for other peoples boundaries". Luckily my family passed by us and they were able to smooth it all over, or I could have been eaten.

I shop either first thing in the morning or late in the evening because it's quieter and I like to walk the couple of miles to the walmart or wherever, especially if I'm picking up some soda. I get there either when they open at 7am or around 9:45 when they're just winding down. I can be in and out with my bags in 6 or 7 minutes using self-checkout.

It's funny how they will make all kinds of excuses and insist it's all healthy despite the fact that buying a month's worth of food in one shot cannot possibly be healthy over the long term. Like, why are bottles of sugar beverages even on your routine shopping list? Ever consider maybe carrying 45 pounds of liquid could be why you think you need a motor vehicle just to haul your own food?

The only beverages I buy in bottles are wine of course, and the occasional bottle of san pellegrino or perrier. I guess sometimes a beer or sake if we're going there. The only long-lasting stuff I regularly buy would be things like yellow onions, potatoes, rice, dried pulses, oats, and sometimes some frozen ground meats. Frozen seafood is usually gross so I won't touch it. And frozen vegetables, well you never see obese diabetec my 400 pound life cart shoppers buying those because they are "allergic" to vegetables. I usually see poor people on WIC buying that stuff but they shop with a basket because almost all of them fall into the category of productive citizens despite being severely underpaid due to this country's fetish for oligarchy.

i get my furniture from free piles in the street, run most errands via bicycle, i combine errand trips when i do drive, i cook for myself, shop at foodbank first, discount grocer second, winco/trader joes third for anything else i may have missed. i drive an old economy car i repair myself with discount/used parts, i buy low spec computer, i buy clothes and shoes in bulk from the goodwill outlet, $5 kirkland jeans, i dont buy frivolous shit, i buy cheap beer in bulk, i trade labor for weed, i buy tools for 1/6th the price at the flea market

its pretty fun/easy when you dont wageslave 40hrs/wk+commute
