Look, I was just talking about the four fags. He's not great, either. I think you're missing one of his reasons for not learning certain techniques, though: yeah, you might spend a minute more per day at the quantities of prep you'd do as a home cook vs. several hours per week of payroll you'd lose as a chef; obviously, if you tally this time up over a long period of time, it's going to look huge, but could you really do anything else in a day with that extra 60 seconds? Even if it was 10 minutes (a huge stretch), there's no way 99% of people could squeeze something worthwhile out of that. Similar thing to retards putting sweet n low in their coffee: yeah, you save 30 calories per cup. Multiplied by a year at three cups a day, that's 33,000 calories, or about 10 lbs of weight lost! You could lose 40 lbs with no effort during a bachelor degree! Except it doesn't fucking work like that because of the losses of ebb and flow.

I think you're confused anon. There are two kinds of cooking shows: ones for learning to cook and ones for enjoying the process and end result vicariously. Chef John makes recipes that he actually wants you to make, Fagusa and Kenji are trying to teach people about food and how to get better at cooking. Weisman, Heston, and Babish's original series are just for people to wank off to. They don't actually expect you to copy their recipes
