I'm not OP, but I totally can see the point of a keurig, such as in the workplace, where the machines are untainted by others.
Having them for hotel rooms, same deal, a quick hot drink, possibly from a pod in your luggage.
I have additional homes, and it's nice there's something that works for guests or that first day you're back at the beach house.

That said, I don't own one, but I do use the one at work and will pack them in my luggage when traveling if I see it on the tripadvisor images.

I heard they suck for the environment, which is why I haven't bought one.

Other than the crappy touch screen ribbon cable on the inside loosing up constantly, ours runs fine. We've never cleaned the water tank or like descaled it. I think we've owned it going on 3 years now. The solution for the touchscreen not responding is giving it a nice solid open handed smack and it usually fixes it.

It's this. Coffee pods aren't a bad idea in theory but Keurigs are literally designed to fall apart after 6 months. For me it's a metal french press with no moving parts that will last 100 years.
