IDK, i like it. I'd rather spend the $11 on the burger with all toppings, a drink and a little fry than the ~$7 a big mac meal would cost. people always complain about the cost of five guys but were talking about such small amounts of money here... like $5 max...

i like in-n-out too, but it has a distinct "fast food" taste that chains like five guys and shake shack don't have

also find it insane that people are shitting on five guys fries. they're awesome, and just as good as those in my local "gastropubs" and fancy breweries. i sometimes use them to make lomo saltado

Is $13.62 the same as $11? You said Dive Guys was marginally more expensive than a Big Mac combo. Your typical order is fucking DOUBLE the ~$7 you mentioned. That isnt "$5 difference max"

Im not saying I cant afford 5 Guys, I can lose a $20 bill and be ok financially. People seem to really struggle with this one. Yes, I can make food at home for cheaper than a restaurant. That's not the point of eating out. I'm not going to a restaurant because I'm trying to find the most cost efficient meal possible; I'm going because I want a meal without any additional work attached to it. You're paying more in order to avoid the time spent shopping, prepping ingredients, cooking, and cleaning up. I would much rather spend an extra $10 over what it would cost to make at home in order to save an hour or two. I don't know about you guys but my time is worth a lot more than $10/hr.

Denny's blows Five Guys out of the water, so long as you go to the right location and they happen to not completely fuck up your order. The one in my town serves patties that are juicy, flavorful, and melt in your mouth, but for whatever reason the town next to me served me a patty that was dry, bland, and rubbery.

the longest lunch break I've ever had when working was an hour long, and that was a rarity. usually it's 30 minutes. 30 minutes to get out of the facility, get to the parking lot, find my car, get it going, get out of the parking lot, get onto the road leading to a food place, and pray I don't hit any red lights along the way. that's 10-20 minutes down already. I get to a food place and order, but if there's even one person ahead of me I'm already late for coming back from my lunch break. it takes another 10-20 minutes to get back to the parking lot, find a spot, go back through security, and oops I left my lunch in the car because I was in a rush so I can't even eat it in dark corner or pretend I gotta take a shit and eat it on the toilet. nah. I'll stick with eating a 3 year old pack of oreos from the bowl in the conference room.

You hate this place for people splitting a hair between taste preferences and food prices?

And why blame fucking 5 guys in this situation? Your gf probably doesn't give as much of a fuck about the price and likes the taste of 5 guys. So you don't choose 5 guys, they don't get your money, and the only real conflict is how you two value fast food by cost. The disagreement with 5 guys is just a symptom of that difference.

Should the world be pander to you so that this mild dissonance in your personal relationship doesn't occur?

im chronically anemic and malnourished, to the point where I don't usually get periods
anyways I got a job at 5 guys once. They let you take home a meal daily, and being of a miserly nature, I naturally took advantage of this, eating a burger w maxed out meat ( extra patty, extra bacon) and of course fries and occasional milk shake. that went on for a few weeks
anyways That Time rolls around and I got the worst period of my life. literally it was like a gallon of blood. sooooo much blood. just wouldn't stop coming out. horrible. went back to eating burger like 3 days later tho. then i quit w/o notice for a job that paid me twice as much lmao

smashburger is better imo

I used to work there and I think the people complaining that it's $10 -15 for what you get other places are being stupid and poor for the following reasons. You're paying for the quality that other places don't have. The meat is prepared fresh daily, the fries cut daily from real potatoes. They are no freezers at 5G, only fridges. Everything is fresh and quality. You're better food, prepared well. So yes, that costs a few dollars more. Get over it

The dogs are apparently fine but I've never felt like it seemed worth the price. I think its actually on the menu for picky kids who didn't want burgers and it's just permanently on the menu even though they sell almost none of them. Overall quality has dropped never since they expanded out of the east coast, all the ones west of the Mississippi I've been too fucking suck, but whenever they remove the hotogs to save costs I'll know my childhood hole in the wall burger place is dead for good.
