what's to stop me from going in and pretending to be homeless to get a free meal?

>> No.17161480

you probably can just go in there and get a free meal, i doubt most people would even mind

nothing, but i can’t imagine the quality of the food served in soup kitchens is very high

>> No.17161503

literally nobody cares
soup kitchens don't just serve homeless, they serve all poor people. They'll just assume you're poor, which is true

I volunteer at one sometimes
It's pretty good, I would say better than what most people on this board seem to eat. We made spaghetti and meat sauce, salad, rolls, and brownies for dessert last time I was there. The people cooking it are mostly retired grandmas

>> No.17161598

if you want to eat dinner with a bunch of people who haven't showered in months and use their clothing as toilets no one will stop you.

Presumably, I wouldn't go in wearing my best suit or something, but they serve whoever instead of the indignity of having someone "prove" they are poor.

When I was homeless, I should have taken advantage.
