Have you tried any chunky natural peanut butters? I know some people don't like the smooth natural kind because it's too runny but the chunky kind is almost as thick as the ones with added fat/sugar. I don't mind the little bit of added sugar in those brands but I like how the kind made with just peanuts and salt is more savory.

Also apple jelly is really nice with peanut butter but I've never seen anyone else use it.

It really is the best work snack. I make them the night before, substituting honey for jelly, and keep them in the fridge. The bread absorbs fat from the pb, the pb gets chewier, and the honey crystallizes. I might try freezing them soon.
