Sales of those “items” will be inconsequential at best. People who already do that McDonald’s hack shit might go for the novelty of being able to “order it by name”, which is what the marketing is focusing on. A few people who haven’t heard of that shit may try it.
The campaign itself is effectively zero-cost beyond paying someone in the marketing dept to make those images. There’s no limited unique item or packaging cost.
However, it’s generating publicity for the brand overall, which is clearly the point. It seems to be effective because people like you are constantly posting threads about it.
