Deenz are all about the brand. Get a decent brand like Wild Planet, and try the kind packed in tomato sauce since that tempers the fishiness.

King Oscar, tiny tots, or wild planet
Get Mediterranean style or the "tomato sauce with basil" kind
Make sure you drain the oil
Dig in. Add some kosher salt and maybe a drop of hotsauce if you want.

Shitty sardines are off-putting because they tend to have an incredibly mushy texture, good deens will have a proper flaky fish meat to them

Disregard everyone else and bake a pie, you will thank me later.

11 spoons of flour, 3 spoon of grated parmesan cheese, 1 spoon of baking powder, 1 cup of milk, 1 cup of oil and 3 spoons of butter.

Mix it all up, let it rest while you panfry some onions, add some finely chopped yellow peppers and mushrooms, add some peas, palmito and tomatoes, season with black pepper, salt and olive oil.

Then you pre-heat you oven, place a third of the batter on your pan, slowly place your mixture with a spoon and cover it all with the batter. Take to oven on medium heat for 40 mins.

This tastes liuke childhood to me, hope you enjoy it!
