I have a 3+ day train, my shithole country banned sleeper cars so I'm stuck on a bench. I don't wanna go bankrupt buying shitty $11 +tip sandwiches, especially if i could just make my own.
What are some good foods that keep in room temperature, that aren't just snacks?
I'm thinking turkey sandwiches, oranges, trailmix, bottle of vodka, (they also banned booze)
I want to eat fancier and make the other train passesengers jealous of my pre-planning while they over pay for a sub-par product.

Why would they ban sleepers?

Canada banned sleepers because it means people can walk from their sleeper to their seat, and they want asses on chairs. It sucks because the fun of the train is walking to the lounge cars, to write or hitting the dining car and possibly making some freinds along the way. Now the kitchen is closed, but they have vending machine foods more or less, and alcohol is banned even though the menus have beer and wine lists.
It's a shit show especially since they just recently started doing this.
If there's any upside, I'm guaranteed to have my own 2 seats plus a window view.
Last train i rode i befriended some stoners and would trade weed on the smoke stops. It's not supremely dreary, im sure people laughed in death camps too

Fresh fruit with dried fruit, nuts, nice bread or crackers, maybe hard cheese, cured meats like salami, and honey. Make a tasty charcuterie board and watch the haters hate.

I want creativity in my meals. Something that screams culture, but not cultures from sitting in room temperature.
Charcuterie might be the way to go for grazing.. things can stay fresh relatively in a 3day span too..

updated and just saw this.
you're reading my mind man.
I wish i didn't have to sneak booze because i love wine with a charcuterie.
Im only bringing a carryon backpack, so if these fuckers give me shit for bringing some grocery bags of food im gonna derail the train.

you can basically bring everything in your store which isn't refrigerated / frozen. besides the charcuterie board
>cereals and milk
>deens, spam, other tinned meat
>soups, ramen if you have a way to get hot water
>tinned fruits and veggies
>veggies & fruits like potatoes, apples, carrots, melons, bananas, pineapple, tomatoes, avocado, lemons, straweberries
>pickled stuff
>spices, garlic, onions
>pasta if you have hot water
>eggs if they aren't washed like in the US and you have hot water

I think I can get water hot enough for tea's but its at the discretion of the gestapo's stewardesses.
I understand being a young man who's backpacking i might not want the gun and boat show, but those damn train staff code switch on me so hard, they're cracking jokes and making small talk asking who wants what from the menu and they act like complete cunts to me when it's finally time. I'm not even scary looking or an incel, im a model actually

Aren't you supposed to have a sleeper OR a seat? Why would you need both?

what the fuck, is that covid related? sounds like something a third world shithole would do

>> No.17588575

>>17588556
something about covid, could be masked to disguise lowering train passengers.
I dont see how firing the cook prevents covid either. Not sure if i mentioned this, but they only recently started doing this late January of this year, so for two years in this faggy shitshow i could've had my own private sleeper car and actual cooked meals

Absolutely kingly.
I have data, keep an eye on ck around the 24th-31st I'll see what I can do and will post pics.
This new thread is gonna be mission: cook-cuck, all the passengers forced to watch me bullishly dine on actual cuisine while they fiddle with their mayo packets to dribble over soggy turkey sandwiches.
I have over 3 years working kitchens, some included french brunch restaurants doing deserts. I am the s.c.c sleeper cell chef.

very nice! another idea is that you could order food online and getting it delivered to your platform if you have a longer stop (about 7 - 10 min) somewhere. getting a fresh pizza, steak with salad or some pasta is a pretty big power move

if you're taking booze i'd urge you to consider alcohol percentage by volume. a pint of whiskey will take you a lot farther than a bottle of wine and takes up a fraction of the space. plus if you can get water and or ice you can enjoy a nice sipping drink instead of belting out of a flask

>Sor, I'm sorry but I'm going to have to ask you to put away your supplies, as it is causing a disturbance to te ther passengers
