Its a money laundering operation jokes come from the fact that if you are unfortunately enough to be in an area with a LJS and you drive by one, its usually empty since no one wants to eat fast food fish

Additionally, they desparately attempt meme food, like their deep fried twinkie which just gives people a bad vibe. If you're going to a place that is unironically serving you a deep fried twinkie, you jjust know to expect not much. They might have had a shot if the went the Popeyes route, and had a bunch of sauces and actually good fish, but their stuff tastes like you found it under the seat of your car.

Was gross then and is gross now, so are frozen or cafeteria fish sticks, just bad quality.

I find fish to be a good that is very gross when bad quality, something like chicken is a bit more forgiving, as you can eat canned chicken or something and its still at least edible.

When I eat fried fish, which is probably once every few months, I find a good local bar with deep fryers and good quality fish. If the fish sucks, I don't order it at said restaurant/bar anymore. I have found a place in my town that has all you can eat fried fish every friday and their fish is good quality, place is usually packed.

I have made it at home but I would argue fried food is one of those things that its just easier to get at restaurants with deep fryers for as often as I eat fried stuff (which is rare)
