Gordon Ramsay is apparently getting ready for a new cooking contest show, this time possibly featuring influencers and youtube cooks.

Adam Ragusea revealed in his latest podcast that he was emailed by a casting agent offering for him to participate in an upcoming cooking show with Gordon Ramsay, to which Adam replied "Lol no."

What do you think this show is going to be? I think they're going to get shitheads like Joshua Weissman and Cringing with Babish to cook against Gordon Ramsay as part of Gordon's new desperate attempt to stay relevant and hip with the kids.

This is the first thing I thought when he started talking, he's so afraid he's not even making sense.
This game show will show up that 90% of the youtube cooks are shit and spend 10x longer than a chef to prepare a meal with total focus on presentation and camera look with taste sometimes not even being a considered factor at all.
Often people like Babish are trying things they've never done before and self proclaim it to not taste great or be flawed, which is fine but they can't go head-to-head with someone who has perfected dishes to Michelin star restaurant tier.

The only youtube cooking channels I think that would really cut it are Kenji, Sorted's Ben, Byron Talbott, and maybe Joshua
I know Joshua has worked in restaurants before but he also doesn't strike me as someone with a ton of experience in the field. The former three all come from a professional background

Restaurants waste food, all of them do
The restaurant he worked at that Gordon owned were buying ingredients just to throw out 90% of it, while fresh. Things like "this dish calls for asparagus heads, so we cut the heads off, threw the stalks out and prepared them".
It's one thing to waste food to restaurant use, it's another to purposefully design your menu to not make use of the ingredient you used.

I never liked Ramsay's edgy persona much, but he always seemed like a competent chef. The eggplant steak thing really confuses me though. I can't tell if he did it as a joke or if he really thought that monstrosity would seem anything like a steak to anyone.
