Redpill me on beef. How do you cook this stuff so it's not chewy.

Start with a good cut that has not been re-frozen.
24hour marinade, or at least dust with baking soda, leave overnight, then rinse off before cooking.
Simmer, roast, braise for hours.
Cut thin and saute.
Eat microwaved chicken nuggets if beef steak is too manly for you.

What if I'm retarded and just want to fry it in a pan without all the nerdness. Oil lard butter? Temp? Time of cooking? Seasoning?

No salt?

>> No.18365978

>>18365971
I usually use salted butter when I’m cooking steaks so I never add more salt because of this. I usually add pepper just before I eat

I think you should do it in olive oil or some oil/fat and add butter later, otherwise you're going to really burn the butter

>>18365705
Basically get it to room temperature, then cook it on a very hot pan. Cooking it hot and fast will make it brown. If it's too low, or if you crowd the pan by putting too much meat in at once, it will turn more of a grayish
>>18365723
With ground beef unless it's 99% lean you don't need any oil there's plenty of fat. With a steak, use olive oil then add butter once you have a nice crust

>try adding butter later and use oil to start
I think I’ll try that anon thank you. Admittedly me using butter to begin with is kind of a family thing. I’m trying to avoid seed oils, using olive oil wouldn’t be bad or even some tallow. Might be worth trying the next time I eat some steak

Yeah everything else you do sounds great. You can always use only a little oil if you like that buttery taste.

I've trying to reduce my seed oil intake as well. Olive oil should work for steak, but admittedly it's difficult to find a good replacement for everything, especially asian cooking.
