There was a gas station near my old apartment that had fried chicken liver and gizzards. I would walk there drunk as shit on the weekends and pick up a fried feast. It looks fun to eat. Restaurant food is nice sometimes. But it's also nice sometimes to eat trash, junk food, instant noodles etc.
I'm certain it tastes nice, it's fast, cheap, and some of the dishes aren't really easy to get here consistently. Or on a trip it would be nice to have other options. There's a petrol station nearby that I'd like to grab some quick options from for work.
Many reasons why it's curious to me.

I don't know where that anon lives, but I live in SEA and I kinda agree with him. I know gas station food is not healthy and probably a lot of it just tastes bad but its a funny novelty.

Where I am we also don't have stuff like that, or all you can eat buffets. Those cheap AYCE buffets is something I've only seen in western countries. In poor countries local food is cheap so there's no market for cheap Chinese food or fast food chains.

brah I tried once. i bought raw peanuts over the internet and boiled them for hours following instructions with seasoning and shit, and they were all wrong it was horrible. turns out I got the wrong kind of peanutts.

also I've gotta be honest, no matter how perfectly you follow a resippy, if you've never eaten the food you'll have no idea if you've done it right and if not, you'll not really know what off about it either. i know this because i've eaten mexican food in australia.

anyway, i need to go south and stop at one of those stands off the highway and just get some proper boilt peanuts and then i KNOW what the fuck i'm trying to do

frankly they're kind of gross. i had a gf who was mad into them but i don't really get the appeal. i guarantee you have a much better chance of knocking it out of the park than anything you can get at a gas station. it's like, water, peanuts, and some spices, boiling in a garbage can.
you might just not like em, mate.

Bad for me? Why me? What's special about me? And how would you know, I don't know you, you're a perfect stranger?
Or do you perhaps mean "bad for people in general"?
Then why don't you fucking say so you idiot? Why do you need to make this about me the reader like some cheap women's magazine or a health blog grifter, making up for their mediocre content by creating a parasocial relationship to their audience? Is that where you learn how to communicate to people? Stop it with that bullshit. It's not bad "for me", it's bad for people in general. And it's also not bad because people are going to choke on it, or because it will bankrupt them, or any of myriad other ways an object could be bad for them. It's bad because it is unhealthy. There you have it, an objective, precise, impersonal phrasing for what you're trying to say.
IT'S UNHEALTHY.
There. Now in the future maybe you can express yourself like a normal, intelligent person and not like a retard.

Bastiat was an ardent liberal who advocated for free-market economics, free trade and constantly criticized socialism. Doesn't really seem to fit the drawing (which, funny enough, between the aquiline nose, protruding brow and receding hairline, is very Jew-coded, though the artist probably didn't even intend it and simply conjured the image of a "rich banker" from his subconscious, which only makes it even more hilarious to see it included in a meme that in all likelihood was made by a socialist)

I seriously doubt that is any worse. Gas station food is fucking terrible, and only the pure junk food candy/chips/preserved meat shit is really "safe" at any random location in the US. The sandwiches and hot food is almost always suspect. The only exceptions are the higher end convenience stores in big cities that charge stupid amounts for the convenience, the gigantic highway stations that charge stupid amounts for being the only non-sit down non-grocery-store food source in 30 miles, and the very rare place that is actually well managed and staffed (and then you still have to avoid all the disgusting things corporate decides to sell).

I mean the stuff is frozen obviously (taquitos etc) but honestly wasn’t too bad and probably on par with whatever you’d get from T Bell etc

And we’d clean that stuff too. Unlike the soda fountains which are quite literally filthy in every gas station store in America

I used to love Family Express pizza, every box came with a $3 off coupon if you ordered a whole one so you could get continual large pizzas for $5 each, miles better than Little Caesar's. Eventually they realized it was too good of a deal and literally doubled the price over the course of a couple months. I thought I could live with the $1 mega slices they'd have on Mondays, but they changed that to $1 "off" and raised the price to $4 for a fucking slice. I spit on Family Express.
I'll still go there for their coffee though, genuinely as good as Starbucks since it's fresh ground. Other places around here still only have burnt battery acid that's been sitting in pots all day.

I used to live in a small ass town and when I was in middle school, my dad moved to the city for work, and mom and I stayed behind so I could have one last summer with friends before moving away and probably never seeing them again.
Every weekend we would drive to the city to visit dad and halfway there was a 7-11 which we would stop at to use the bathroom and grab something to eat. Every time I would get two cheese burger hotdogs and sometimes would top them with chili or cheese.
Then we left the small town and went back to living with dad when summer was ending and the school year was about to start.
But yeah. Going to 7-11 has been kind of a core memory. I remember going to 7-11 more than visiting dad.

>80 percent of millionaires in the United States are self made
Becoming a self-made millionaire is such a minute possibility that it's a pipe dream at best for most people.
>Poor people stay poor because they make dumb choices
Let's give you a hypothetical anon, your dad grew up in an area where the primary employment option was mining or servicing the mines. His dad was a miner, his dad was a miner and you decide to become a miner too. The job was dangerous and completely wrecked his body so he joined a union which got him more benefits and a bit more pay.

It turned out the union head was a corrupt bastard who kept telling him to strike for various things which invariably made him a load of money to the point that your dad, through no fault of his own, has reduced the country to an official three day work week.

Eventually the lack of money became a problem so he turned his back on the union and had to cross the picket line to provide for his family, and it so happened that the rest of the country was sick of it too and decided to elect someone who'll keep the unions in check.

Unfortunately, this someone was Margaret Thatcher. The primary source of employment for his town is gone and so too are all the other jobs it created, the lorry companies and the railways both fuck off and now he's in a position where his only experience has been with an industry that doesn't exist anymore, his body's knackered and he didn't have the money to just up and leave.

With all this in mind, what decisions would you make to become rich in the post-industrial wasteland of Northern England? Come on anon, you can do it.

>They weren't handed it, they earned it.
Most of your "self made" millionaires rely on family connections and/or money to make their own fortunes.
Consider an extreme example, Bill Gates.
He was attending Harvard Law School, thanks to his parent's money and connections, a path that could have easily made him a millionaire.
Instead, he went to his parents, asked them to support him while he dropped out of law school to pursue a career in computers. They agreed to send him back to Harvard if his computer ambitions didn't work out.
They helped him start Microsoft financially, and with his Mother's business connections at IBM.
Without rich parents, "self-made" billionaire Bill Gates would probably be driving a cab or hanging sheetrock for a living.

p.s. 8.8% of all US adults are millionaires. A million dollars net worth doesn't really mean you're wealthy any more.
