What's your favorite dish? For me, it's Pasta E Fagioli.

Yeah I bet you do.

I love pasta fagioli. My mom always made it when I was young. But now that I'm grown I see her recipe is not the norm. Lots of garlic, basil, and chickpeas. It's a comfort food for me.

Love it, though i prefer the more creamy type to the soupy type. Pasta with legumes is underrated, pasta e ceci is top tier as well

The one time I made penne e ceci, the thin outer skin layer of the chickpeas flaked off and just sort of existed in the sauce and it was a bit unappetizing, do they just dissolve better if you mash the pasted chickpeas more thoroughly or is that just what you deal with when eating it?
I was missing a few other ingredients including rosemary which was a pretty big fucking deal for the flavor and makeup of the dish but I definitely want to try it again some day

Wash them first

iirc I did give them a wash and long soak because they were dry and not canned, but I guess you're saying to get in there and just rub off that filament before separating for mashing and whatnot?

Yep, rub them between your hands, you can do a handful at once

Followed by OP's signature dish, Smoked Cock e Fagioli

>> No.18793754

Anyone have experience growing Fagioli in your garden? I always thought it would make a great winter food for a homestead
>>18790955
Make sure you write the recipe down and keep it somewhere safe. Those "family recipe" variations are like treasure.

Yeah pull your ass cheeks apart with your hands and let out some of your heavenly wind.

I made this once it was good but then the leftovers were gross because the pasta just kept absorbing the liquid. Next time I'd make less or keep the pasta separate til eating

OP eats a fagioli
