Depends on how much you eat. I eat 2 big meals and 5 sandwiches a day and i can do like 100€ in portugal. I burn a lot of calories on my day to day so i still struggle

>> No.18839378

>>18838720
Not a lot, but still doable. At 4.30€ a day you'll have to cook yourself and it will be frugal but not the the extent of being unhealthy.

Lel, I spend €500. But I'm also not a poor student

>> No.18839596

That's pretty low, I guess you get the cheaper basic items and make thise sale dishes. Here in Italy if I make a lot of pasta and vegetable dishes, bread, butter, iced tea, I won't spend more than that. But I like to cookna variety of things. And go out to eat.

OP here, thanks for the feedback.
honestly i was worried it was too much, i guess i'm just really poor.
Still, every time i go to the grocery store i'm baffled by the prices. 3 euros for 4 mid-sized bananas. shits crazy

I spend about $50 a week and all I buy is the cheapest meat I can find and fruits and vegetables. I barely get the 100g protein I need daily and less than 2000 calories

how little do you fuckers buy? i'm one person and spent $100 today alone. I do groceries maybe 2-3 times a week, spending $15-$25 each time

>> No.18842943

>>18838720
Not, I spend more than that weekly. You should invest in a big freezer and look for those about-to-expire items as they can go as low as 75% of the price.

My last receipt:

>Yeast €0,4
>Popcorn €2,2
>Bottle of water €1
>Mozzarella €9
>Bag for groceries €0,4
>Ricotta €2,6
>Flour €3,6
>2x Chips €5,8
Total: €25

I went basically to buy mozzarella and ricotta because I use them for pizzas/pasta and ran out. Also bought some flour and yeast. €25

Day before I went in to buy coffee because ran out and it cost €16

Day before then I have €40 receipt:
>Sausage €6
>Cucumber €5
>Onion €3
>Ketchup €2,7
>Meatballs €6,2
>Cream €3,2
>Bottle of water €1
>2x bag for groceries €0,8
>Potatoes €5
>Gnocchi €3,4
>Spaghetti €2,4
>Donut €1
Total: 39,7

It is like this every time. I'll run out of shit so fast, and I only cook at home once daily, for one person

These receipts were of past 3 weeks. I've already used the sausages, meatballs, gnocchi and so on. I'll have to do groceries again in a few days and I'll buy those things again and a few other shit like soap and washing detergent and I'll spend another €30, it never ends

>> No.18843040

>>18843032
Oh, I forgot the receipt of today where I spent €100, so past 3 weeks I had those 3 receipts and today's groceries for €100, so I'm up at €180 this month and there is 10 days left on the month still

>> No.18843681

for you

>> No.18845110

>>18838720
If you live in Switzerland you're looking at 240 to 300 CHF per month at the bare minimum for groceries for one person. And that's if you only cook yourself, buy no meat, don't ever eat out, and don't buy drinks (alcohol / soda).

That's basically a poverty diet of pasta, sausages, eggs, yogurts, rösti, milk, and water from the faucet.

I spend $200 a week on groceries. USA.

>> No.18845993

Usa, I spend $80-90 a week. I don't budget or anything just go in and get what I need. I don't know how you people are spending so much for one person

>> No.18846019

>>18841060
I usually shoot for 120 usd a month
pork shoulder
whole roaster chickens
pasta (sometimes make a big dish of pasta in the oven similar to lasagna but without the meat, and eat all week)
popcorn kernels
apples ofc
rice
tortillas (used to make simple breakfast tortillas every day but not so much now that eggs cost so much)
If you aren't obsessed with eating red meat every week and you can get used to eating staple foods rather than a huge variety, it's extremely easy to save money, and if at the end of the day you want to add 20 to you budget you can add a few of whatever "luxury" item you like. The key is just to buy shit whole and learn how to cook, rather than buying prepackaged trash
