Give it to me straight was is the best bang for your buck snack that isn't a nightmare for your health that I can get at a common Northwestern US gas station like Chevron /ck/
I get SmartFood, it's too expensive. It's good, but, there's probably really good stuff too. I'm waiting for my healthy food to cook.

Usually they serve (by law) some kind of fruit, usually a banana. They can be reasonably priced.
Also the usually serve canned foods.

Not sure about your local gas station, but around my area you can find tortillas and cheese. Get those and make quesadillas at home. Maybe get a jar of salsa as well. Not really that healthy but filling and far better for you than the premade shit you can get.

Does Chevron selling popping corn? I pop my own popcorn cuz I like popcorn but refuse to pay for inferior-ass pre-popped shit.
You can carefully pop them in the nukebox if popping them on the hob worries you or you don't want to use that much oil. A word of advice if you do use the microwave method: once you empty the popcorn into a bowl, spray it with butter-flavoured cooking spray, salt it (use pickling or other fine salt), toss to coat and repeat with a second spray-and-salting followed by a third and final one.
It will have less fat this way, but still taste great.
You can also swap butter spray for plain and use stock powder instead of salt. Knorr tomato is great for this as is tamarind. Maggi powders tend to have cornstarch and don't taste nice unless added to water so don't use those.

Fruits, apples, oranges, berries, banan, etc. They're healthy, delicious, and low cost, they just spoil fast. You'll feel better and stronger if you get yourself into a fruit eating habit.

my brain skipped over the "you can get at a gas station" part. Wherever there's a gas station, should be a grocery somewhere. Go there and snack on fruits instead of eating gas station garbage.

for a gas station smartfood is probably your best bet honestly. Maybe kettle corn if they have that. I'd say nuts or seeds but those are insanely overpriced at gas stations
