2009 Chateau Suideraut

Thomas Jefferson's favorite wine was Chateau Suideraut and he had a huge collection of it.

There's a few, but the standouts are definitely the 1993 or maybe 95 Beaucastel hommage I forget the year, but the vintage was perfect for CDP wines, 1982 Mouton rothschild, and these ridiculous bottles of donhoff eiswein. I had a bottle of 1929 tokaji that was still amazingly good as well.

Based sauternes enjoyer. Try a 2001 sometime. Standout vintage.

Thanks fren. If someday I can afford to, I want to try a 2001 Suideraut and a 2001 Y'quem.

Haven't had this mother fucker in about 8 years, but still remember tasted like straight up raspberry. A close second for me would be 2015 Louis Jadot Beaujolais, I can still find 2017-18s sometimes

1994 Margaux-Margaux
2nd best was a $5 bottle 1993 Penfolds South East Australia Shiraz with a dozen years of age on it, I had bought a bottle for supper when it came out, and afterwards went around to all the nearby stores and bought out their stock, over three cases, and socked it all away in the closet to age. Just in time, because it got a 98 in Wine Spectator a week later.

Went to a high end restaurant's last day of service and they were selling their high end bottles for 50-75% off. Got to try (at the time) 21 year old champagne for a little over 150$. Obviously it was great but I was amazed by how little bubbles remained in champagne that old. Would love to try another similarly old bottle of Champagne someday to compare
