In Sweden Ikea is a nationalized company, and all Swedish citizens are required to do 2 years of Ikea service, similar to the compulsory military conscription in Finland. Most young Swedes are employed in the Ikea factories, not the stores--with a small number of the elite selected for corporate training. But the cafeterias are identical across the entire company for efficiency reasons... and they are entirely funded by taxpayers, basically "free" for Ikea conscripts, so it is a very attractive meal choice for a young person. Approximately 1.5 million Swedish citizens eat at Ikea cafeterias every day... plus another few hundred thousand in the Ikea Foreign Legion, which these days is mostly drawn from refugees hoping to gain Swedish citizenship. (The main difference is they have halal menu options.)

The Ikea meatball dish is something is a unifying cultural force among the Swedish nation, and even though many young people celebrate the end of their service with the famous rebellious pledge...

There are some notable regional differences, especially once you get into Norway. The other Scandinavians call Norwegians "a nation of thieves and liars" and when you see them, their sloping foreheads and thick, ridged brows immediately evoke a low-born criminal phenotype. But if you continue your inspection of the Norwegian race, you will only be more shocked to discover a preponderance of webbed toes, extra fingers--and even prehensile tails, possessed by over 56% of Norwegians as of the last United Nations Health Survey (2015).

They are not entirely without self-awareness, and within the bounds of Oslo (their horrible, stinking capital "city", if such a term can be applied to a mass of mud huts strewn with trash and human feces) they are able to walk upright, bipedally, in a normal human fashion, in order to "put on a nice face" for the tourists, thousands of which gawkers perversely travel to this backwards, nigh-prehistoric wasteland in order to gape and jest at the savages and freaks. So it goes without saying that the native cuisine leaves much to be desired. In earlier times, most of the dishes were based on the forest deer, which the Norwegians will chase down in packs and attack with their teeth and claw-like nails, devouring the entrails even before the beast has perished. However, so much do Norwegians enjoy the chase, that they hunted the local fauna to near-extinction in the 20th century, since they kill as much for sport as for sustenance. Since they are "technically" our cousins, we other Scandinavians generously banded together to organize regular food donations to Norway, launched from a safe distance by enormous catapaults. I think most Norwegians now survive on expired Swedish Fish.
