Has /ck/ tried the taco bell cantina menu? Review brah said it was their best release in years

One order of chips and cheese

Where do y'all niggas live that you don't have a taco truck or taqueria around? If I want shredded chicken tacos I'm going to a taco truck. Taco Bell is for dogfood quality meat and orange nacho cheese. And Baja Blast. I'm not shitting on them I probably get a crunch wrap meal once a month. But I would never pay extra for "quality ingredients" at Taco Bell when there's 5 different taco trucks within 5 miles of me.

I think I got a $10 cantina variety box. The taco shell would've been great if it weren't broken and soggy on 1 entire side.

The salsa verde has an overbearing cilantro flavor to it. My chalupa was oddly stale on one side. The burrito with pico was alright I guess. But if I'm going to spend $11-15 on cantina food, I'm not going to taco bell for it again. I'd rather go to a local tex mex or brave a taqueria for the same price.

I had the same experience, the taco was maybe the greasiest, oiliest fast food item I’ve ever ordered. It’s criminal they’re charging $3 for it standalone. Taco Bell prices are now on par with carryout from local Mexican places but the portion sizes are much smaller and the quality is obviously worse.

Man, it feels like fast food corporate actually comes up with a decent menu idea and has $200k+ per year chefs thinking up shit fast food workers could probably reasonably replicate. But every time it hits the real world of useless employees and low standards its clear corporate either doesn't know its crap outside of corporate kitchens, or don't care.

Not just TB on this, most fast food restaurants fuck up the majority of their limited time offers, as well as the core menu items at that rate.

Interesting. They messed up my take out order and had to remake it. When I got the correct order they guy at the counter mumbled something about soft tacos, I just smiled and took the food. He had added 2 cantina chicken soft tacos and a half dozen of the avocado verde packets. I thought the soft tacos were great, good flavor, good texture with the cabbage. That avocado sauce is not good.

taco bell is its own 'flavor' or whatever you want to call it and occupies a unique place that cannot be substituted with whatever you are yelling about
if you don't like it, fine, but obviously some people do enjoy the salt laden slop that they serve and shitting your pants about how it isn't your preference only proves your own ineptitude

Taco Bell does the weirdest shit now. I stopped by a few days ago and couldn't find the cravings box on the combo menu where it usually is. Being Taco Bell, there was no one at the counter but eventually I got someone's attention and asked about the cravings box. She said it was now an app exclusive and there's no way to order it in the store, I'd have to get the app on my phone if I wanted to order it. I thought it must be due to some kind of discount promotion but she said the price now was $1 more than before and comes with one less item.
I don't get what Taco Bell thinks it is gaining by making it difficult to buy food from them. I'm not the type of person who takes their phone with them everywhere so I couldn't have used the app even if I wanted to. I sort of understand them offering special deals through the app but making menu items app exclusives is crazy.

Thats only some stores btw. Theres one TB 2 miles from me, and another about 8 miles away. One had the boxes clearly on the menu. The other had an identical situation as your post where the dude said it was app-order-only. I think they stopped that because so many people refused to download an app to order a $8 box of food. The manager sighed and made something else work that was really similar to the other box with a managers discount. I think that was a corporate store and the other one with boxes was a franchise store.

Right there with you, I'm not going to download an app to order some secret menu bullshit once a month. But corporate KNOWS getting people to download the app always leads to more sales. Not necessarily higher profit sales, or higher overall ticket sales, just more in general. Its why every fucking place has an app to order ahead despite saving zero time or money.

Which brings up the other weird trend of chains no longer seeing value in having a consistent experience across their locations. As you pointed out, even in locations near each other can vary greatly by price and offerings. Might as well roll the dice with a local Mexican place if TB is going to be inconsistent.
