Likely fake news. Even if they cancelled lectures I'm completely sure a lot of the buildings are operational. Libraries likely but also any buildings where they employ researchers or other professionals of any kind will still be operating. The chemistry department building hasn't gone "full remote" somehow, the professors are still in there trying to churn out papers and so the doors are unlocked and the bathrooms functional.

Nah a lot of buildings are open practically 24 hours, lol if you think phd researchers stop work at 5pm. They might take a student ID card tap or something to open but there will be at least a couple 24 hour buildings on campus. At my university the easy ones were one of the libraries was 24/7, the student union building was, and the medical research center was open. After a certain point they're "locked" to the public but with a student ID you could still get in. Probably there's more than that, not like I tried every building on campus at 1am.
