>> No.3815619

None of them.

From left to right - Coke, 7up, A&W(? unfamiliar with that drink), Mountain Dew, Dr.Pepper and Sprite.

There is no general term for that type of drink. If I was offering them to somebody I wouldn't say 'would you like some pop/soda/coke?', I would say, 'would you like a drink? I've got coke, 7up, sprite (etcetera), and there's also juice and water and such'.

If you insist general terms must be used, 'pop' is acceptable only for 7up, sprite and other lemonade. Using any of those words is retarded though.

The proper terms are either soda pop or soft drink.

Coke is a brand name for Coca-Cola only. Using it for any other brand is just stupid. That would be like calling a pickup a Volkswagen, just because they're both vehicles.

Soda in the phrase "soda pop" is an adjective, not a noun. That would be like calling a sports car a sports, instead of a car (when not using the full phrase). Similarly, if you shorten the phrase soda pop, it is pop (the noun), not soda (the adjective). Anyone using the word "soda" is showing himself to be completely uneducated.
