Made mafe for the first time. I"m pretty nonplussed with the results. I don't know if it's because of the recipe I used or that I just don't like mafe. I like the concept of it, though, and might remake it in the future using different spices.

Was going to cook moose steak, but accidentally took filé out of the fridge. So I cooked a simple lunch dish for myself. The filé was suppose to be done next week for the entire family.

I cooked bakmi goreng babi, Peranakan food of stir-fry wheat noodle with pork and vegetable dressed with sweet soy sauce (kecap manis).

This morning, though, for breakfast, I had American and Italian combined food: griddled spam and eggs with homemade polenta (made it two days ago, let it dry out a little, and sliced it to griddle). I dipped the polenta in the egg yolks.

Ramen.

Not just plain ramen with the shitty salt packet, either.

Ramen with a large, thinly sliced clove of Garlic, Chicken Soup Base, Soy Sauce, Crunchy Peanut Butter, Sesame Oil, and shredded Black Pepper BBQ Chicken. I added the peanut butter on a whim and found that it rounded the dish out nicely.

It was fucking delicious, and I fully intend to make more.
