grilled cheese sandwiches are one of two acceptable conditions for the use of american cheese, the other being on cheeseburgers.
american cheese is chemically designed to be absolutely perfect for this particular application.

I would rather just have mozzarella sticks and a grilled cheese separately.

Or maybe put mozzarella between the bread, leave off the cheddar/american, batter and fry the whole sandwich.

for the thousanth time, no. there are american cheeses, but the pre-sliced shit is not cheese:

let the fine folks at wikipedia help you out:

American cheese is a processed cheese. ... In the United States,[2] it may not be legally sold as "cheese", and must be labeled as "processed cheese", "cheese product", or similar—e.g., "cheese food". At times even the word "cheese" is missing in the name on the label, e.g. "American slices" or "American singles". ...The marketing label "American cheese" for processed cheese combined with the prevalence of processed cheese in the U.S. compared to the rest of the world has led to the term American cheese being used in the U.S. synonymously in place of processed cheese. The term "American cheese" has a legal definition as a type of pasteurized processed cheese under the U.S. Code of Federal Regulations.[4]

American cheese is used in American cuisine, for example on cheeseburgers, in grilled cheese sandwiches, and in macaroni and cheese.

You're both still missing the point. When I go to the supermarket, there is two kinds of american cheese I could buy. One is the gross tasting processed chemical crap, and one is real unprocessed cheese and is sold by the slice over at the deli counter. I watched the guy slice it right from the block.

>> No.4296911

You guys realize that there are these things called knives, and they can be used to slice anything? For example, "specialty cheese" as you trailer trash plebs refer to non-American cheese? And a knife touching something doesn't magically turn it into something else?

>> No.4296922

>>4296908

>I watched the guy slice it right from the block.

as i said in the post you quoted, there are many american cheeses, but the shit that comes pre-sliced is "american cheese" and is not actually cheese.

was the deli-sliced cheese called "american cheese"? if so, that is kinda odd, because, as the wikipedia quote pointed out, "american cheese" cannot be called cheese in america.

god this sounds like Kafka wrote it.

>"american cheese" cannot be called cheese in america.

"American cheese" must contain at least 51% real unprocessed cheese. Anything less and it must be called "american cheese food" or "american cheese product". FDA rules. Most people just say american cheese so I think that is where the confusion lies. What I bought from the deli is most likely 51% or more real cheese. I think it tastes better than the "cheese product" or "cheese food" that can be bought in packages. Also some delis sell mild white cheddar as "american cheese".

Guy complaining about refills here, go to literally any other restaurant and they don't charge for refills on tea or coffee. Because they are just fucking water! 3$ for two cups of coffee is retarded.

Especially when I can go to Ihop, pay 3.99 and get as many fucking cups of coffee I want without worrying about being charged a fuckton if I'm going to be there awhile.

Go to another shitty restaurant like steak n Shake, the iced tea there for a buck, and then I can get 5 six maybe seven refills if I am with a group of people and we are going to stay there to have a several hour long discussion or something, this is also the case with needing a bunch of coffee, when I am going to be out with people for awhile I don't want to get charged for fucking coffee refills.

Hell I have walked out of steak n Shake and they forgot to put the tea on the ticket, and the manager said, don't even worry about it, and rang me up without it. Why can she do that? Because they cost next to fucking nothing to make.
