Why is this so popular?

It has a bitter/bland taste and it's barely salty.

I like almost every other cheese in existence, but this I don't get.

the swiss I buy is buttery, rich and nutty. Maybe you are eating the wrong kind. I love swiss.

What sort of swiss cheese are you talking about?
I find gruyere pretty salty (and delicious!)

The problem is that OP is not talking about emmentaler or gruyere, he's talking about Swiss cheese, the shitty american blending/knock off of those cheese.

Ah, that makes sense. OPs pic kinda looks like Jarlsberg which i love, does it taste similar?

>> No.4412508

I doubt it. "Swiss" cheese is bland, slightly savoury taste with little sweetness and none of emmentaler's sharpness.

I'm clueless about cheese and I'm looking for a low fat cheese to put on my pizza. Any recommendations?

>> No.4412531

>>4412510
Most cheeses that you would want to put on a pizza are pretty high fat. They need to be to melt properly. I'd just get some good mozzarella.

It's either bitter or bland but not both. gtfo faggot.
