Part of the reason is that shit is so incredibly easy to make. You might not think so if you ever went to Subway, the lobotomized morons they hire make sandwich building seem like aircraft cargo system engineering (my profession). Go to Jimmyjohns and they literally had my sandwich made before I finished paying. Neither place makes a good sandwich, but at least it's a simple fast (overpriced) lunch.
