So I was stupid and now I've got a bad case of burning pepper hands. Anyone know any decent home remedies for washing off the capsaicin?

Eat 2 celery sticks. That's what my local restaurants prescribe for such ailment.

forgive me, I know its not great but it made good speed practice.

the milk is helping a bit, or its giving good temporary relief. Along with vegetable oil scrubbing. But I don't think I understand the celery one but I'll try it.

Rubbing alcohol. It'l dissolve the oil from the peppers, which is causing it to stick to your hands.

Oil your hands, rub vigorously but then **don't wash it off**, that's the mistake most people make. Clean the oil off with a dry paper towel. You'll find it removes a truly remarkable amount of the oil, enough that you might not even feel the need to wash your hands although you will want to in this context. Once your hands are nearly oil-free you can wash them very easily with soap and warm water.

Repeat if necessary. Guarantee this will remove the capsaicin, can't guarantee a relief of syptoms. If you've still got burning then I suggest slathering in a higher-fat yoghurt, or cream.

I must not have sensitive skin, handling hot Asian and African pepper varieties, Scotch bonnets and habaneros I've never once had my hands feel burned.

In OP's picture, what filter/how was the effect created using that original picture? Does anyone know?

At least certain aspects were hand drawn and no filter was used. I cannot say if this is true for the whole picture or not.. But i suspect at the very least the whole thing was at least finished, or touched up by hand.
