Read the subject. Jimmy John's sandwich master will answers all your questions.

>> No.4703754

Why do I have to ask for the hot peppers, rather than you offering them?

Fucking lazy scum 0/10 Micky D's is better I don't have to ask them to supersize it they ask for me

>> No.4703782

>>4703754
Probably because then we'll have to ask if you want sauce, oregano, or any other freebie. It's just faster and more convenient for the customer to tell us what they want rather than us asking if they want something every time someone orders. We do usually try to up sell cheese when a customer orders a sandwich without it. But I doubt your question was serious anyway.

>> No.4703800

Just wanted to say that you guys are pretty bro. Back when I worked for my campus' post office, a Jimmy Johns worker would stop by often and give us a bunch of coupons for free subs.

Also, what's the best sandwich in your opinion?

>> No.4703802

>>4703735

When I lived in Iowa and Missouri, Jimmy John's was my go-to. The Italian Night Club was my favorite, with the JJBLT a close second.

Now I live in Connecticut and we have sandwiches (grinders) here that puts anything Jimmy John's has to shame. I'm sorry to say that but it's true. I mean, I'm sure I'd still eat there when I go back to visit but maaaaaaaaaaaaaaaan they're really not all that great.

I do miss JJ drive-thrus though and getting some loaves of day-old bread on my way through, however. :(

Wait, what? The hot peppers are free now? When I last had them like three years ago there was a charge.

Yeah, it seems like JJ's sucks, but everyone who works there is super chill. But I'd just say a beefy 9 with hot peckers. I can't really eat there anymore.

The hot peppers are free at my store, but word on the street is that it depends on the JJ's you go to. Some charge when others don't.

>>4703805
No, everything is pretty decent quality.
I don't get the second part of your question though. I feel like it pertains to the picture, but I don't have cable. So I dunno, maybe?

Meh, halfway kidding. I like your cold sandwiches in the summertime. Hunters club is my sandwich. But really, JJ isn't that great.

>> No.4703835

You're right. JJ's isn't that great, but working there is probably one of the best experiences of my life. I have tons of work stories if anyone is interested.

Potbelly isnt that great and the price point is way off.

I went there once when it opened around here and have never been back

>> No.4703860

>>4703848
It's pretty decent for a chain sandwich I think. A regular turkey and swiss is like 4.50, it actually costs more at JJ and they don't toast. OP's pic is old or he must live in the middle of nowhere if it's still that cheap. Now if I realy want a sammich I'll go to a real deli and pay a premium, if I want a cheap sandwich for less than $5 it's potbellies. Also Schlotsky's can be really tasty but they are spotty, some locations are horrible. If you find a good one though both are better than JJ.

>> No.4703866

>>4703860
Those prices are right at the JJ's I work at (I live in the Mid-West).

>> No.4703889

Why is it that my Jimmy John's sub is always 99% over baked bread, and 1% tasty toppings? Not sure if it's just my local store, but I stopped going to JJ simply because every sandwich I tried seemed like dry bread, and next to nothing else.

>> No.4703887

that menu lies. none of you niggers have delicious sprouts anymore.

>> No.4703896

i was in jail for a week and craving jimmy john's when i got out so bad. there is one a mile from my apartment. it took an hour and 20 minutes to get a sandwich delivered. i will never forget this.

>> No.4703904

>>4703889
Sounds like yours is shitty as hell. Mine is more toppings than bread. In fact, I have had problems with the sandwich falling apart because the bread sogs away.

>> No.4703907

>>4703887
Yeah, the sprouts were gone before I started working there. Sorry man.

>>4703889
That's my problem with JJ's too. The bread is just not good unless you know when it came out of the oven. You probably have bad luck and get the bread that's been out for a while. You can try the wheat bread, that's pretty good.

>> No.4703911

>>4703887
Thats because sprouts are the number two cause of hospitalization for food borne illness (behind raw milk) Salmonella (as you pointed out), E.Coli...etc.

>> No.4703912

>>4703889
Yea that's the main reason I don't like them so much. I'm not really a bread eater, I like sandwiches but for the veggies and meats, the bread is just an object of delivery for me. JJ's bread is dense as fuck, untoasted and there is too much of it. If I remember right the club sandwiches are a bit more balanced than the subs, probably due to the extra meat.

>> No.4703914

>>4703896
Yeah, sometimes no one notices the ticket when it gets printed.

weird...my Jimmy Johns actually tear much of the inside of the bread out so that they have room for all the toppings and the sandwich still closes.

>>4703904
Must be. Last time I went, I ordered the tuna salad sub and, hell, even with the salad, lettuce, and cucumber slices it managed to be dry as hell.

I enjoy Penn Station for my subs, if I'm going to eat out. The local JJ's just disappointed me too many times.

>> No.4703927

Why are you inferior to Jersey Mike's?

>> No.4703938

>>4703912
The subs are gutted so there's less bread in them, and the clubs are just cut down the middle. You can ask for LBI (leave bread in) for the subs, or TBO (take bread out) for the clubs.

>>4703916
The clubs are so much easier to close since they're gutted. The clubs can be nuisance to close just because there is so much substance on the bread.

>> No.4703949

>>4703927
How is Jersy Mike's? I've never been because I can't actually fathom willfully walking into a place called "Jersey Mike's". That's the worst name ever.

>> No.4703946

>>4703918
I actually don't have an explanation for that one. Maybe just super overcooked bread?

>>4703927
Probably because we just slap paper on bread and that's it. I think it's decent. I'd rather eat at JJ's when I get off work than other places just because free food is free.

I like Jersey Mike's. They are... something else. Something special. The one I go to, they know me by name and know exactly what I want.

I like it. I fully recommend it. It's a bit expensive, but so worth it. Especially since their regular is a 7 inch sub and their giant is a 16 incher.

Is there a signature sandwich, or anything above and beyond that you'd recommend? My usual sandwich at delis is a roast beef but if they have something special I'm up for it.

I know it's stupid but I've avoided Jersey Mike's the two years I've lived by one purely because I fucking don't like that name. I can picture it, I walk in and there he is, jersey John behind the make line making my sandwich. His bitch is working the register. I can almost smell the food over the obnoxious amount of trashy cologne he's wearing, and he can almost hear my order over the pounding trance music. I think he's quietly calling me a faggot but I can't be sure over this horrible noise.

Fuck I hate New Jersey. I'll try it though.

Why do JJ employees always get so pumped up when I tell them I want spicy brown mustard on my sandwich instead of mayo?

Are they required to by some weird rule?
Do they like it because they can squeeze it out, easier than spreading mayo?
Are they just weird?

Not a guido fan either (and not the person you were talking to), but Jersey Mike's is unbelievable. I'd recommend getting one of their hot sandwiches. If you get something cold, they're going to want to give it to you "Mike's Way," which involves some combination of toppings that I can't remember. I think it just makes it easier for them to get things through the assembly line (not that it's bad - I just prefer the hot sandwiches).

It doesn't really matter what you get, because literally everything on their menu blows Jimmy Johns right out of the water. If it's a choice between JJ's unsettlingly fast delivery or me driving to Jersey Mike's and back, I'll take the latter every time.

I agree with this completely, sometimes I can't even hear what a person is saying when I'm taking a phone order. And Jimmy Radio plays the same songs every single day.

>>4704577
I'd get the Italian Night Club or the Hunter's Club with salt and vinegar Jimmy chips.

>>4704630
Jimmy John's doesn't carry spicy brown mustard, only Dijon. But it is easier to put Dijon on the meat than spreading mayo on bread. Less work for the bread starter.

>>4704649
Probably both. I've had days when I said, "Damn negroid, this sammich is good ass fuck!"

>>4704639
I don't drive so I dunno. We have a ten dollar tip guy we deliver to though. But that's extremely generous. I'd say 15%-20%. But since most JJ's employees are chill, I'm sure they'd gladly accept shots or a bong hit too.

Goddamn shame. The sprouts were part of what made the giant veggie club awesome, and I'm not even a vegetarian. That sandwich was delicious enough that it didn't even need meat.
