Hey /ck/ I've got a little question about food health.

about 5 hours ago I ate 2 decent sized bowls of beef stew with mashed potatoes and ever since I've felt really bloated.. It's getting pretty annoying now that i'm trying to sleep.

Just wondering if this could be a sign of a health problem or if I just ate way to much and should stop freaking out. Never felt this full for so long before.

Thx guys.

could be a number of things excess sodium being one of them.
Just stay hydrated and it should hopefully clear up in a day or two

Hmm.. to rule out gastrointestinal disorders, eat one more plate of it and if that settles your stomach (most likely it will, paradoxically enouf. it's probably just excess stomach acid that is bothering you, and giving it more food will neutralize it) then you know that you are in the clear for that at least.

I'm afraid you have eaten too much. Is there anything that I can do? Advise your family?

I usually feel bloated after eating a lot of mashed potatoes, but it usually goes away.
Could be a sign of cancer.

Knew a guy who had the same thing.
Two days later, dead.

Most likely an allergic reaction, when you mash potatoes you release a certain substance(can't remember name) that many people's of non irish decent are allergic to

>beef stew with mashed potatoes
only thing heavier would have been steak and fries

Your stomach is the size of your fist, and you just put in 3+ cups of heavy food. Wait it out.

Not sure what you're looking for? If it's just sour cream you want? I also have the pa dutch recipe for sour cream pie?

You just kinda "slip" them into the broth. Mine always float so they get kinda like pasta on the bottom and pie crust on the top side

I'm imagining giant pirogi flavor, part dumpling, part soft potato.

Yeah would definitely recommend, there's quite a few really good recipes in it. Many of them are damn similar to my tried and true family versions
