/ck/ the internet is full of misinformation, and for some unfathomable reason, I trust you guys more. I found eggs in my refrigerator, they are over a year old. I cracked one open, it smells fine. It has no smell at all. Can you eat eggs that are over a year old?

Pic unrelated

Of course you can eat it, retard.

If you're asking if it will make you sick, fucking find out and report.

Only if you eat it raw. Cooking it will activate the botulism.

Are you so poor that you can't buy fresh ones?

Not really no, mostly curious. Also I don't like being wasteful.

would you?

Very cool picture!
As for the eggs, I wouldn't risk it.

I usually throw them in a pot with water. If they float, throw them out. If they sink, they're fine

OP, serious answer here, I found some in my fridge that had been there for a few months (say, five or six). I tried hardboiling a few, and the yolk of the one that I tried (ate about half) tasted moldy. I felt mildly nauseous for the rest of the day.

Unless you're desperately poor, just throw the things out.

Of course you can eat 1y old eggs. You can also dump a pound of ice cubes into a heated deep fryer.

I have some eggs from August that I keep forgetting to throw out on garbage day.

If you're really worried, do the float test, and if they float chuck 'em. Otherwise boil the fuck out of them, peel them, and make pickled eggs with them.

How to pickle eggs:

Get some clean jars. Put the naked boiled eggs in them. Boil vinegar and pour in enough vinegar to brim the jars. Add any spices you feel like (I just use cheap balsamic.)

Seal the jars, wipe them off, and put them away for a few months. Eat the eggs with beer.
