What did everyone make tonight for dinner?

I oven baked my salmon with lemon slices on top, but god I hate the colouring after. I probably should have seared it first.

all I have had today was a tiny microwave bean and cheese burrito

Maybe it's because I'm not that fond of cheese, but any microwave burritos/pizza pockets whatever I can't eat. I would always watch my friends love them, and I never understood.

Tonight was my lazy night, got some take-out from my local chinese place. Tried some fried dumplings which I'd never had before, and those fuckers were tasty.

Only thing of that sort I can stand is pizza rolls, because god damn why are they so good.

I don't microwave them though, always oven cooked because they get cirspy that way instead of soggy.

left over leek and potato soup, with some toasted almond slivers.

Poaching some pears right now, because I have been craving poached pears all week.

Your dinner looks good, colouring wouldn't bother me. I like roasting salmon on top of some fennel and potatoes.

I just wrapped some chicken breasts in bacon and stuck them in the oven with some tenderstem broccoli and asparagus.

I'm tired, my kitchen is a mess, and half my stuff is packed away in boxes, so I just had mac and cheese from a box tonight. I'm actually feeling kinda sick right now. I'm still getting adjusted to my new apartment and I've been eating nothing but crap. I think it's starting to disagree with me.

Cooked up a swordfish steak seasoned with a pinch of salt pepper and old bay. It was pretty great.

I haven't had dinner yet, but I was happy with what I did for lunch.

Went pier fishing last Saturday. Mostly caught whiting. Was lazy and just baked the whole haul in one go a few days later, with lemon pepper. So with the abundant leftovers, I decided to make fish tacos today and an experimental avocado sauce, then lettuce and tomato. It's 1 avocado, juice from 1/2 a lime, handful of cilantro, another of fresh dill, and another of green onion, tsp. of cayenne powder, freshly cracked pepper and salt. Pureed while adding liquid until reaching desired consistency. It's the kind of condiment you spoon on before each bite.

I don't know if this means I'm getting back into cooking and food photos again, but this was nice.

Here's the photo. (trips for OC).

What is this all about?

I don't even think I know what poaching means for food.
