Hey /ck/, /m/ here. I was wondering if you could help us out with a nifty project.

You see, the superhero fans on /m/ are enjoying the latest season of kamen Rider, Kamen Rider Gaim. In it, there are these strange fruit from another world called Helheim fruit. If you pick one while wearing a special belt, it transforms into a device you can use with the belt to turn into a Kamen Rider. However, if you're not wearing a belt, the Helheim fruit entrances you with almost hypnotic allure. You're overcome with a desire to eat noe, and if you do, it horribly mutates you into a rabid bloodthirsty monster. It's actually pretty cool.

So what we want to do is to try to come up with an edible prop, something that looks as much like the Helheim fruits on the show, but is actually edible, so us morbid superhero fans can chow down on real Helehim fruit. I was hoping you guys here on /ck/ could help us out with how to do that. I'll go ahead and post some reference pictures of the fruit so you can get a better idea of what we're looking for.

As you can see, it's a fairly hefty thing, about the size of a small peach maybe. It has a strange ring shaped stem, since it's supposed to resemble a padlock. The devices they turn into are called Lockseeds and actually open like a lock once refined. It's covered in thick reddish purple leaves that almost make it look like an unbloomed rose.

Here's a better look at the ring-stem. I almost thought it looks like a twizzlers piece painted to look plant-like.

On the show, the leaves can be peeled off to reveal the fruit inside, which looks very pink and uh, squishy. Most have commented that it almost looks like jelly candy, which is probably what they used to make the edible props.

Most of the time though, people don't even bother to peel it. They just bite right into it, which means the leaves are edible as well.

It's been shown cut open once, revealing a cluster of what I assume are seeds inside. It almost looks like they stuffed a hidden raspberry in there.

So yeah, those are Helheim fruits. We basically want to come up with something we can make to resemble these and still eat. It doesn't have to be exact all the way down to the seeds, as long as it looks the part at least outwardly. And if we could make it fruit-flavored in some way, that would be ideal. The whole show has a fruit motif going on. What do you think /ck/, can you help us?

sup. /m/an here. That looks like some weird modified mangosteen, both inside and out. The inside looks a little like a rambutan, though.

>> No.5126825

You could probably make something like this with gelatin, if you're not going for the actual fruit. Like, make some kind of jello balls.

This is your best bet. Or rambutan, because those things like freaky as fuck.

Not OP, but part of the fruit is that it sounds like you're biting a ripe apple when you chew it.
The other anon is probably right. It's probably a dyed Lychee.

I'd suggest making the leaves and stem from rubber or plastic, this part isn't edible and needs to look correct.

You can make the edible fruit centre from fruit flavoured gelatin, make it the same consistency of a gummi bear and it will hold it's shape while being attached to the rest of the fruit prop and while being stored.

Havent watched Gaim since October. Did Butcher deliver? I read that by Christmas there would be untold amounts of suffering

>> No.5127272

Yes, he delivered, in spades.

Only 14 episodes in and we've already had backstabbing, betrayals, multiple deaths, twisted perceptions of justice, and rivers. The Butcher is holding nothing back this season

Dude shit got all inoue by like episode 8

Like one Rider beats the shit out of Gaim and throws him in an evil hell river.

Well, more of a stream, really

It's better though because then Kouta has to stalk off looking all traumatized.
