Hello there anon, I see you're purchasing a gallon of milk. Would you like me to bag that for you?

No just throw back in the trolley with all the others.

I got a literal retarded person as my bagger the other day. Best job I've ever seen.
All the vegetables were in the same bag.
All freezer items were in the same bags. All the refrigerator stuff except meat were in the same bag (it had it's own bag). The household sundries same bag.

I wish I had had a nice responsible mentally handicapped person to bag my groceries this morning. Instead, I got a hungover college girl who stared off into space while she bagged my groceries and I wound up with cans on top of my bread, vegetables in with my meat, and an urge to go back and punch her in the face.

>> No.5581243

As a cashier I don't actually bother asking that since the grand majority of people just say no. Unless you specify otherwise it's not going in a bag.

>>5580951
We all try to do that, we're trained to. You're probably one of the good customers who sort your stuff while putting it on the conveyer belt to make it easy as fuck for us. Lots of people just throw random shit up there and expect us to reach and sort and spend time sorting it for them instead of simply pulling matching items out of their cart.

>> No.5581545

Um yeah....you're bagging every other fucking thing so why not bag the milk....actually double fucking bag it.

I used to be a cashier at Wal-Mart and I bagged shit right. Cans double bagged by themselves, milk bagged, bread by itself, eggs by itself, meat alone... etc. I hated when I would be bagging some womans groceries putting them in the buggy, and she starts re-sacking EVERYTHING.
>> bag and ring up your own shit on self-check

Also can't fucking stand the people who put chemical with any other kind of food, eapecially meat.

Sometimes they dooooo dribble a little bit out of the cap, or leak. Best not to have milk dripping in your car.

>> No.5583144

There used to be a relatively common practice of grocery stores saving the cardboard boxes that they received food in and using them to box up food bought by customers.

Instead of these flimsy plastic or paper bags, carrying the food into the house in the boxes was far superior.

This was especially useful because we wouldn't have room to put the food in the cab of the pickup. It went into the back where it could get rained or snowed on. In the half hour or more it would take to drive home from the store, paper bags would have disintegrated, but the cardboard boxes did well.

I wish they would bring that practice back.

>> No.5583196

>in safeway store
>noobie cashier
>puts my bread in a bag
>starts piling veggies all around it
>slowly crushes the bread
Or even better, though from a while ago
>put carton of eggs at the bottom of a sack
>starts piling 20oz soda bottles(stocked up on those free 20oz caps) in the sack on top of it
>when the ~5th bottle goes in, we hear a CRNNCH and the sack is slowly turning dark from the liquid now inside it
And last one
>boiling fucking hot out
>like 110
>guy buying bagged ice
>wants it put into a paper sack
>they tell him it will break
>he wants it anyways
>watch him as he heads out the door and into the parking lot
>he's holding the sack with one hand
>lifts up that arm to fix his shirt stickin to him and drops his arm too fast
>bag of ice rockets through the bottom of the bag and hits the pavement
