Does anyone actually eat their eggs sunny side up? It's super common in TV shows but I don't know anyone who does it IRL.

>> No.5619950

No, nobody does. Not a single person.

>> No.5619970

I like them like that on my bagels.

>> No.5619974

I love sunny side up, but flip it so there's no runny whites but the yolk is still uncooked.

That's called over easy, which is the way I usually cook my eggs. To me, sunny side up just seems like a shittier version of over easy.

Just put a lid on the skillet and it will cook the whites. Not technically sunny side up but who cares.

then you get steamed top of the egg.
the slighty crispy texture from over easy is the best.

>> No.5620120

I used to eat my eggs over easy, but now I almost exclusively take my eggs sunny side up. It has to be really gooey though.

I suppose the next step for me is to just eat raw eggs.

>> No.5620127

Jesus fuck you people you're acting like a perfect sunny side up egg is the most difficult thing to make in the world.
You just cook it until there's no longer a translucent layer on top of the whites and then serve it. It's really that simple. The white will be cooked and the yolk will still be runny. It's not fucking rocket science, goddamn.

What kind of flame you using? I use a medium flame.

>> No.5620150

>>5620145
You don't wait til the top solidifies, wait until it has a viscous but firm texture on top, like it just sticks to a dry finger a little bit. Perfect every time.

>> No.5620159

>>5620145
The whites don't necessarily have to be solidified, rather, again, just wait until there's no longer a translucent, liquidy layer on top of the whites. You can jiggle the pan and watch the whites to judge this. Jiggle the pan and watch the whites until it no longer appears as if there's a layer of clear liquid moving back and forth on the whites. That's when it's ready, that's when you're absolutely sure to have cooked any salmonella out of the whites, yet the yolk will still be runny.

>> No.5620167

how i do it and always seen it done

melt butter in pan
add egg
then tilt the pan and baste the top with the butter to desired doneness

>> No.5620174
