Toppings, do whatever feels right.

I've found a good seasoning setup for the burger meat -

for 1lb of burger meat...

1 large shallot, diced fine
couple pinches kosher salt (you know how much you do or don't want)
five or six grinds of pepper (to taste, ya bastards)
1 or 2 Tsp chile powder (just don't use crappy stuff, ya?)

mix all that shit together by hand in a medium bowl, cover with plastic wrap, chuck it in the fridge for 30-45 minutes... take it out, form four patties, cook it -- DON'T YOU FUCKING FLIP THEM MORE THAN ONCE - eat it up with all the topping from this thread you like.

Those goddamned shallots... dee-lish

Whatever the fuck you want.

Burger toppings are a personal choice. Sure, I may sneer at people who don't like vegetables on their burgers, but it's their choice, not mine. Hell, I even vary my burger toppings depending on what sort of burger I want. The only thing that is a CONSTANT is some form of onions. That's the only thing I can think of, that if it's missing, would really make a lesser burger.
