I did KP shit at a Michelin star restaurant, their specialisation was seafood, but their steaks were rated highly too. When they got well done orders they would deep fry them to shave off half the cooking time and at that stage the the meat wouldn't be porous any more so it didn't retajn the oil any more, deep frying odd cuts of meat does work if you're using it as a part of prep as opposed to the whole prep.

I was pretty gob smacked when i saw this being done for the first time however and it was hard not to stare.

I used to work kitchen at a DQ and we had hotdogs.

We just took them out of the package and placed them in the warming drawer with like a cm of water. They'd be up to temperature in an hour or so. If there were no warm ones and someone ordered one we just microwaved it, as you said.

It's really not difficult and I never understood why McD's didn't offer hot dogs. Chili cheese dogs were the shit.

I haven't seen it in nearly 10 years, but at least in Wisconsin, around November - December, McDonald's used to serve Bratwursts. Actually I think it was in conjunction with the Green Bay Packers football season, so more likely October - December.

Never had one, but I remember it being on the menu.

No no, the reason McDonald's never made hot dogs an official food item is because Ray Kroc was solidly against them. He thought they were "filthy". Some franchises have sold them in certain parts of the country but it was never a mainstream McDonald's item.
