Unless that tastes wonderful or pretty unique, $35 is way more than I would pay for an egg to cook for myself, even if bigger than an ostrich egg. People will pay for all sorts of novelty, and they are pretty, so eh.

I do, just not if it's an egg that costs $35 and the only discernable diff is a larger size and that it's blue. Like I said, if it has a unique or much more intense flavor or texture or something, I'd consider it, but I doubt that it does.

>> No.6170393

I think I remember reading somewhere that emu, ostrich, generally larger bird eggs have a nice fluffy texture to them, but not 35$ fluffy.

I for one just think it is neat to live in a world where we don't eat the same few dozen local foods our whole lives and enjoy the opportunity to access this stuff. 35 is almost the exact right price to pay for an interesting but probably ridiculous new cooking experience just for the fun of it. I have never had an emu egg. Maybe it is fucking great. Probably nothing special but the good thing is being able to find out. Try not to be curmudgeonly.

Yep that is an intractable case of curmudgeonly right there. Do you have any idea how depressing you seem? I wasn't even disagreeing, I dont think anyone is dropping 35 dollars everyday for an emu omelette breakfast I just meant that I dont think anyone ever thought that was the case, not even the emu farmer. But there is value in novelty. I appreciate access to these sorts of one offs. That was my only point. Deeply offending your sense of being able to call something dumb was entirely accidental.
