The old one is dead so here. Picked this stuff up off an anon's suggestion. 4.99$ for the 6 pack and it's pretty damn good. Will be getting again.
Anyone pick up anything new or interesting lately?

Sprecher is made here (Milwaukee) and a lot of their stuff is delicious. Also awesome soda. Their russian imperial stout and anniversary porter (limited run raspberry porter) are so damn good. Black Bavarian is always a good safety beer.

Drinking some of this atm, very tasty.

I wanna try Stone's Go To IPA.

I need some beers that I can just drink without catching a slight buzz off of just one. The beers I have in my fridge right now are 9.5%, 10%, and 10.5%.

They're all delicious fuckin beers, but I can't really drink them in the middle of the day cause they make me tired.

I figure this is a good place to ask, how do I get into liking beer?

I haven't had much exposure to it, the few times I've been offered to try a beer I just couldn't take another sip. Am I doomed to miss out on the wonderful world of beer?

>> No.6202837

>>6202828
What kinda beer did you try? For me, beer is kinda gross if you drink it in the same way as water or soda, especially something thick like a stout. You have to pay attention to the flavors to really appreciate them.

For example, my favorite stouts taste like coffee, chocolate, dark cherries, vanilla, oats, etc. When I first started drinking them, I didn't understand why people said they could taste those flavors cause I sure as fuck could not.

After your palate becomes more accustomed to roasted barley, hops, malt, etc. t'll be much easier to appreciate the beer for how delicious it is.

>> No.6202847

>>6202828
Also, as I've become more accustomed to drinking heavier beers, just sucking on the insides of my mouth after its been coated with a thick stout or porter is absurdly delicious. You get different flavors and, in my opinion, can get a better impression of the quality of the ingredients and of the brew since the flavors your tasting are more delicate and nuanced.

Fuck, I sound like such a faggot. I apologize. It's part of my job to evaluate beer.

I've been wondering the same thing lately. Well, sort of. I just turned 21 recently and have tried some of the local breweries (I know I should be glad I live in Michigan). Mostly been drinking Stouts, but I dunno if that's just because I ha done stout I liked and as a result only try those.

I do enjoy Bell's, Frankenmuth Brewery, Atwater Brewery and I think I had some of Founder's Imperial Stout when I was at the Drafthouse in Kalamazoo.

Any other good Michigan beers I should try out? I know I've been meaning to try out some of Short's, especially since a Hopcat opened up not too far from my university.

I'll have to try it sometime if I see it. I've had some of their other beers that were good.

Here's a good porter I used to drink a lot when I lived in CO although made in OR.

Midwest has a great microbrew scene but damn CO is really doing it probably better than almost any place in the world. Also more people seem to drink decent beer there. Here 95% of the people I see checking out are buying Miller, Bud, or some other garbage.

Didn't drink since I had to be ready to drive at a moment's notice at the time, but I did have their pizza and some of their black cherry pop. Both were really good and I'm definitely coming back there when I have time to kill between classes and can drink.

You've said that many times already. That doesn't change the fact that there are many places that don't sell it. I think what you are getting so defensive over is that you believe that I'm saying that people in Wisconsin haven't heard of nice beer. I know they've heard of nice beer, because I've been there. There, and Minnesota, and Michigan. No argument from me on that.
