Even "dollar menu" type deals are subpar, as it usually involves someone getting an overpriced soda as well. You know they're makin' at least 300% profit on every soda. It comes as a syrup that they mix with carbonated water themselves, and I can't remember the difference in cost by volume.

HFCS tends to be 55% fructose, and then some other percentage glucose. Cane sugar, naturally, is mostly just sucrose which is 50/50 fructose and glucose.

Fructose is processed by the liver and a good deal of it ends up as LDL and just getting put into adipose. Etc. I've read so many people online complain about Subway being just as greasy and shitty as McDonalds or Burger Man, but here in Norway I eat at Subway reasonably often and I think it tastes great and fresh. It's not like a top tier sandwich of course, but all the ingredients seem more than good enough and the vegetables taste great. I usually get ham or turkey (or both) and it tastes as good as the stuff I make my own sandwiches with.

This is pretty much spot on.

I worked at a Macdo in HS. Did a lot of resetting timers instead of throwing old things out and putting it in the books as waste. Timers seemed to go off too soon and I lived in BFE so not enough customers to consume said things in the time allotted before it went "bad".

Volunteered to work at the big city a few minutes away on Black Friday for that over time pay. A lot more strict on regulations about timers and quality control, not that it even mattered that much because the sheer volume of customers moving through the store was a lot higher.

well subway, at the least the one i work at, uses hellmans mayo and 32oz foil packs of starkist drypack tuna. the kind where you rip off the top and dump it in. at most one cambro of the stuff will last 2-3 days. tunas salad really doesn't taste any worse the third day its been in the fridge, the stuff is covered after all, and not just with a loose lid, you take saran wrap and press it into the top of the tuna so its not exposed to air, then you put it in into the walk in cooler.

and if you get a loaf of bread that just came out of the oven half an hour ago, hooooly shit its one of my favorite meals, tuna with swiss toasted on wheat, with all the veggies, oil vinegar sweet mustard spicy mustard salt and pepper.

i think i might go get one later today, now that i've got my tuna sub boner on.
