Hey /ck/.
I wanted to make Kombucha this summer, i made ~4l of green tea with ~220 g sugar and added my Kombucha-Mushroom with it's Kombucha Liquid ~250 ml, now it's been resting for 3 days, and i'm worried. This doesen't look usual, does it?

Please tell me my Mushroom isn't infested, and if so, is it salvagable?

Damn, /ck/, this is the first time and already it seems like it fucked up.

You have and infection possibly brettanomyces, in the presence of oxygen it starts to make that white foamy shit. However that is merely a guess from a brewer. I wouldn't risk it. Just toss it out.
How does it smell? It should have a smell of acetic acid. Sort of vinegary. If you can detect anything else toss it.
