At the Japanese store, I get calpis concentrate, potato sticks, seaweed salt potato chips, these rice crackers that are like a variety pack, big as fuck round crackers and around 5$, konbu and salmon onigiri, one bento to enjoy later, ready made croquettes, dashi powder, Java curry mix or Vermont, ume candy with a kimono girl on the front, salmon steaks cause nowhere else has em, Japanese chocolate that comes in a box of individually wrapped pieces with gold and brown packaging.

Banana leaves. They're great for making tamales and pasteles, and they add a nice subtle flavor to a lot of other dishes as well.

Ponzu sauce is pretty good as well.
Dried mushrooms are an essential. Supermarkets, if they even have some of the varieties of mushrooms you can find at an Asian market, will charge you ISIS ransom prices for this shit. Don't pay it. There's an easier way.
