Anyone here prefer taking the extra minute to put ketchup in the pan and mix it up with the french fries? Cooking the ketchup in it gives you the taste but doesn't overwhelm it.

So by the time you are halfway done with your french fries, you have assured yourself the remainder will be soggy...

Why? I'd rather put some malt vinegar as I go...

What does it make the ketchup taste like exactly?

No. You cook them all the way, pour some ketchup and mix it with the burner on.

That sounds so fucking retarded
>Soggy fries
>Now you've got a ketchup encrusted pan you have to clean
No practicality.

That would pollute the oil for the next batch, so no.

And also ketchup is MOSTLY WATER. Which would expand and throw hot oil everywhere. So, no.

>Frying them
DEEP frying. Not shallow frying. Deep frying. As in, totally immersed in hot oil, that you use over and over until it saturates.

Or you could just you know control how much ketchup is on the fries by dipping them and using your brain

But they don't get soggy. Make them crispy first, then they"ll just be lightly coted.

It works with enough oil and by flipping them.

Dipping doesn't really work. Maybe if they were brushed.

And once again we learn that the practices the entire world has used up until this point were completely wrong...

Why not make a ketchup sauce you could toss the fries in right after they are out of the fryer?

I'd personally try pan sauce of ketchup, balsamic vinegar, garlic, and maybe parsley.. Heat that in a small pan, and just toss the fries in a metal bowl with it.

A1/butter/parsley would be good... But all of it would have to be pretty light as to avoid sogginess.

Many small farms in Idaho are now spraying their potato crops with ketchup 2 weeks prior to harvest.

The fries from these spuds are said to be delish!
