Is it okay to just eat one big meal a day?

>> No.8179992

If you want to grow big and tall Popura, you need to eat three big meals a day.

>> No.8179994

as long as you aren't hungry the rest of the day

>> No.8180005

>>8179989
No, you need to eat a two meals, one big at the morning and the other might be more like a snack at the evening, never eat at night.

>> No.8180012

No. Ideally humans should be eating smaller portions every 1-2 hours. One big meal will be horrible for your body and unless you're planning on running on countless energy drinks you'll feel shitty for most of the day.

>> No.8180034

>>8180012
As someone who survives on coffee in the morning and one big meal 3/4 of the way through the day, I dispute the claim that you feel shitty. Your body gets used to it.

I'm actually curious about that myself. I've only ever been given a partial explanation. Supposedly it's because eating late doesn't give your food enough time to digest properly so by the time you go to bed, it's sitting in your stomach because you're not sitting upright like you're supposed to.

No because there are nutrients of which you can only absorb a limited amount at a time in a single meal, for example vitamin B12. Other nutrients compete for absorption in a single meal, like the fat-soluble vitamins A, E and K.

>> No.8180530

>>8180395
Really you should because eating at night has nothing to do with biology. The only reason it's a thing is because at nighttime you might be prone to eat calorie-dense snacks like chips, ice cream and candy or eat a meal that you didn't actually need but would be nice.

There's a wealth of of evidence supporting the calorie in/calorie out theory and, what, one mouse study to support your asinine claim? Really you don't know what the fuck you're talking about, so shut your damn trap.

it's fine. if eating food late at night was bad for you you're ancestors scarfing down a late hunt around the fire would've all died. this thread is a shit sandwich. go to >>>/fit/ for diet advice.

not eating late at night is just a trick to get over hunger pains. you don't feel them while you sleep because you're body goes semi-paralytic so you can lower daily calorie counts. i.e., it's easier to cut that 10pm snack before bed vs that 3pm snack to get you through a boring afternoon.

it's all fucking tricks. tricks aren't science they're things that work for you to help you accomplish goals. fuck

I tend to do that and I'd say no. You're better off eating several small meals throughout the day. Like snacking or grazing on healthy items, like celery or dried apricots or fruit... little bits throughout the day.

I like to eat one large meal while I watch football and then comfily pass out on the couch.

Not that anon, but the thing about sleeping after eating is that you'll not sleep very well because your body digests the food, instead of resting, and the energy it develops may be tranformed into body fat, since it doesn't get used.

It's called Kwashikor and it's not really from malnutrintion ing general but from lack of some essential aminoacids in your diet (the ones that we cant make ourselves).

Not that guy but even if it does get converted into body fat it will still be burned at a later time.

The only arguments against eating foods at certain times are due to people being more prone to cravings. It's a similar line of thinking like when telling people to not drink diet soda when they're on a diet since it'll cause them to crave other sugary stuff.

Say you eat 500 cal before bed and it turns into fat. The next day you burn 500 cal when you wake up and exercise or w/e. If you eat 500 cal then exercise or w/e after then sleep later your still using up all those calories.

The laws of thermodynamics can't be broken. It's always Calories in vs Calories out.

>> No.8180718

It's harder to burn stored fat than to use the ready accessible carbs you just consumed. The difference between running after a bowl of oats or on an empty stomach is lethargy and generally feeling like shit.

Not OP but I only eat one massive meal a day as a normie.
I'm too lazy to wake up until just before work, and no time and effort to make anything then.
Then I avoid lunch because I can't justify the cost of convenience, and because I was too lazy to get something ready.
So then I'll finish work and almost immediately have a large dinner.

Eat like a Finn.
>For breakfast eat just enough so you make it to lunch
>Hearty lunch around 11am-1pm
>Filling dinner around 3-6pm, depending on when you ate lunch.
>Small snack, like a fruit/yoghurt/a slice of bread with a cold cut and/or cheese ~hour before going to bed.
You won't get tired from all that food in your belly in the morning, big lunch helps you push through the work day, dinner to replace the lunch you burned while working and an evening snack so you won't wake up hungry.

Don't know what causes it specifically.
But in toddlers they start starving, after awhile they get a swollen gut and the mom/dad think they are getting better, then die a week or 2 later from diarrhea.
The swollen gut is the body trying to hold onto all its water, when they diarrhea their body has given up and is close to death.
