Like Iron Chef ep. 610 Rice battle. Morimoto uses Funa fish steamed with his sushi rice to make a Funazushi rice rolled into a sushi roll.

The judges were very skeptical of the smell, but were very pleased with the taste.

Shokugeki no Soma unironically got me interested in cooking beyond just heating ingredients to edible levels (like baking chicken breast, boiling beans, etc). I remember the first thing I ever made with passion and effort was the frittata salad they did in the show and it came out great.
