All my siblings have a good jobs, are married, some have kids, most are wealthy, happy and successful.

All I do is go to my miserable job 3x a week, Go home and drink all day/night.

Literally haven't even spoken to 98% of my family in 4+ years despite all living in the same town. Only occasionally talk to my step brother about how much we hate our lives, politics, porn, and local news.


Cop brother occasionally knocks on my door and says "just making sure your still alive" but won't talk to me when I'm drunk so he just leaves after seeing me answer the door.

I made the mistake of starting to drink at an early age (16-17ish) and quickly became an hardcore alcoholic. Lost a 130k dollar a year job, smoking hot gf, a TON of money, and my health is pretty bad. Shit dark colored blood from time to time and constantly have severe pain in my sides near my gallbladder/kidneys. Haven't been to a doctor in 9 years and back then they said I had scaring on my liver so I'd hate to know how bad it is now.

I don't know if it was lack of sleep (apparently I can't drink if I go to bed sober) but I was on my 3rd night of not drinking and just felt I was tripping hard. Would shut my eyes and instantly be in a situation that I was having a conversation with someone (this was at around 4am I assume after trying to sleep at 2am). I would shut my eyes and it was almost instantly go into a dream -and all the dreams I was having a conversation but can't remember any of it, but it was some weird case where I half knew it was dreaming and half believed it. It was like would wake up, understand I was dreaming, then roll over and go back to a similar dream in 2 seconds. Like I was going straight into whatever sleep cycle gave you dreams. I would also close my eyes then and see crazy pictures on my eyelids, like the shit that someone on LSD would draw. The pictures in my eyes happened before the dreaming. Might have been some half dream or some shit. I really need to quit drinking. 3 days was big, drank today probably going to drink tomorrow but hopefully on Monday I can start a break. God damn.

I've been drinking now so hope this is all clear.

I don't remember my dreams when I've been drinking, and I wake up groggy. I don't get hangovers (not from lack of trying), but the grogginess from crap sleep is my thing. This is by no means severe withdrawal. If you have no access to medication, my suggestion is to take a drink. I can't count how many times I have been in your situation, and have been able to taper off. Severe withdrawal typically comes in the form of delirium tremens which is actually a bit rare. You can be fine, anon. Just slowly slow down on the liquor, and in a few days, you will be physically fine. I don't know where you are mentally, so that might be a different story.

So I woke Thursday feeling sick in a way I've never felt and had good reason to believe I was having some rather serious withdraws.
I ended up detoxing over night in the hospital. Friday night I got home with some weed but even with accidentally getting a little too stoned, I just couldn't sleep much. In the early morning I slept a couple of times for an hour and a half to two hours each, both times waking up in a pool of sweat. I figured I'd have to deal with this for a couple more days. Last night I got just a bit stoned and made sure I took my last dose of Gabapentin shortly before bed. I laid down and fell asleep faster than usual and woke up a couple hours later, with some mild sweating. I got back to bed and slept the rest of the night with no issues. I woke up feeling better than I have in, months, at least, if not years.
I've done plenty of fucked up shit because of drinking.
I've been woken up by police with my car parked in someones yard, a couple hours from where I live, with a pistol sitting on the passenger seat.
I've fallen asleep on the freeway with the cruise control set to 70mph and wrecked an F-150, I bought new 6 months earlier. I've watched my dad go into seizures from DT's and leave in an ambulance.
There have been plenty of events to give me a reason to say "this is enough." But what ever happened Thursday really clicked something in my brain. I just don't want to drink anymore. The habit is still there. Sometimes I open the freezer to grab the bottle for a shot, just because I'm in the kitchen and that's what I do, but I'm not disappointed when I don't see the bottle. I've never felt like this. I have Naltrexone but I didn't even take one last night because I felt like it would be a waste of a pill.
I imagine there have been countless people in the position I'm in right now, who have fallen back into it and I'm not naive enough to think it won't happen to me. I'm just pretty psyched about how I'm feeling right now.

It's still unhealthy, but it's:

Glutathione is in alot of things. I don't actually think it's an active ingredient in supplementation form. I personally take broccomax which has myrosinase in it to convert glucoraphanin into sulforaphane which boosts glutathione activity. Similarly N-acetyl-l-cystein I think does the same thing. Only you need to take it before drinking. Not during. Not after but before or you do damage.

A good liver stack would be 6 cups of strong coffee a day. Milk thistle 2-3 times a day. Selenium. NAC. Dandelion tea to sip on. Drinking lemon water.

Regular vodka can have tiny amounts of sugar or other flavourings added without them having to say so necessarily. For example, Stoli has sugar and Imperia has some milk thistle.

The amounts are so negligible that worrying about their caloric value is eating-disorder tier though. And it's especially irrational to worry about a few grains of sugar or some charring of a whiskey vat while you're ruining yourself with alcohol.

Awright drinking in moderation seems to be working. Every 2 weeks or so I'll allow myself to get smashed. Never in the middle of the week, school that I just finished and work I just found should keep me in tabs as I would not allow myself to show myself hungover at those. At first it started off okay, I was in some barn trying to find something when all of a sudden I became aware I was dreaming.

I tried to roll with it, so I jumped and actually flew through the roof of the barn. It was pretty cool but then everything went black and these visions started collapsing into the next. Sort of like a kaleidoscope except that as it moved figures formed in the center and would then dissolve. The last one was this alien looking thing that popped up screaming.

Next thing I know i'm in this flourescent room. I know I'm still dreaming so I try and roll with it again, but there's just this overwhelmingly dark overtone that makes it hard to enjoy anything. I even manage to imagine up this THICC looking model that's totally naked, I think we bang sort of but her face keeps changing from a model to this scary, poorly drawn anime face. Then I get stuck in this loop where I keep going back to this fucking flourescent room. I try and do stuff, but it's all sort of lame and broken. Like I tried to imagine a bowling alley and I can summon up a ball, but the lanes look all broken and the pins are empty water bottles.

I even did the reality checks. I bit my thumb, because I know that if it doesn't hurt i'm dreaming.

Then the sleep paralysis came. I became awaqre my body was a sleep. I try and yell or groan to get my gf to wake me up and get me out of this mess. Struggled for like 10 mins.

SP is strange when you come back to reality it feels like there's something tangible you are clinging to that is totally not there when you're sleeping/dreaming/ in SP.

It's honestly a fucking terrifying/near religious experience. I didn't feel like drinking that bad when I woke up.

Does anyone else have trouble telling the dreams apart from reality when waking up?

Mine are usually about large bugs in my room and when I wake up I don't really get that I'm awake. Still believe that there are large bugs around my bed even when sitting up and looking around, sometime I turn on the light and it still takes time for me to be sure.

Sometimes I even get out of bed and make sure the doors are closed ( small room ).

I can't really tell how much we are talking about because I'm not really fully awake or sleeping, and usually disorientated. Maybe 10 seconds till two minutes, at least the times I turn on the lights and check the doors.

Really scary stuff, also afraid I might leave my room and be found like someone on that state.

Yeah. To this day I'm not sure whether things from years ago really happened, or were dreams/hallucinations.
Worse than this imo, is not being able to remember where I live. While at home. Literally cannot picture the house, the street, the town I'm in.

Literally after like a minute's research, maybe two minute's, I grabbed a nearby thin cardboard box, used my pocket knife to cut a roughly 1"/2.5cm hole in it, and then used a sewing needle I had to cut a pin-hole into it. Faced away from the sun, looked into the box from the eye-hole, and the pin-hole produced a tiny hole with a dimple on the side, which represented the moon covering the Sun. Initially I was worried that perhaps it was a deformation to the hole, so since the holes were on the SIDE of the tall and thin box I flipped it around to use my other eye. In theory, if it was a problem with the hole, then it would show from having done that but the little dot was the exact same. Therefore, the makeshift pin-hole box worked, and I witnessed the eclipse on my birthday. I am now getting quite drunk, and I'm glad you find it neat. I too find it neat. Science is wicked, for shizzle. If I find a more thorough way of showing my whiteness I'll provide it post-haste.
