Is culinary school even a good choice? I like that it's a "hard" skill and not some liberal bull shit, but while there are plenty of jobs it seems very difficult to make any real money. It seems like most chefs don't make significantly more than the guys working at McDonalds. Here in Toronto I see $15/hour jobs that require education and at least 5 years experience. That's "working poor" at best. Becoming wealthy in this industry must be as likely as becoming a wealthy actor, musician, artist etc. Banks wont loan you money to start your own business because almost all new restaurants fail.
