Now some will say sugar vs artificial sweeteners in soda, some say regular soda is better cause diet soda causes cancer and that sweeteners are worse than sugar

Some will say this is a lie and that you are way more likely to get diabetus from sugar than you are cancer from artificial sweet, which is not even proven

Now....look at the label of a regular soda, THERE IS NO SUGAR, they dont use sugar now, they use corn syrup. So, what gives with all this, jack?

whats it matter? no sugar added stuff tastes fucking disgusting, leaving a nasty frog in my throat.
how do people tell themselves this is okay stuff to drink

We use sugar here.

HFCS is sugar. It'a about half and half glucose and fructose just like white sugar is.
Also your comparison is retatded because those other artificial substitutes are used to eliminate calories. Nobody uses HFCS to eliminate calories, it provides the same calories white sugar would in that situation.

Some will say pop instead of soda

Than why does corn syrup taste so different?

That guy was wrong, they use enzymes and membranes to up the fructose/glucose ratio by like 10%. Fructose is 1.2-1.8 times sweeter. Agave is mostly fructose, try it.

It's not wrong, between 50/50 and 60/40 is still correctly described with "about half and half."
If I grabbed a bunch of M&Ms with one hand and a bunch of Skittles with another, you'd have about half and half M&Ms and Skittles and the exact ratio would probably be something other than a perfect 50/50.

It's an order of approximation that makes a difference in taste. Clearly, there is a distinction.

Just to add here's a relative sweetness list of the different sugars used

and also from the wiki on HFCS

HFCS is 24% water, the rest being mainly fructose and glucose with 0–5% unprocessed glucose oligomers.[20] There are several varieties of HFCS, numbered by the percentage of fructose they contain:

HFCS 42 (≈42% fructose if water were removed) is used in beverages, processed foods, cereals, and baked goods.[21]
HFCS 55 is mostly used in soft drinks.
HFCS 65 is used in soft drinks dispensed by Coca-Cola Freestyle machines.[22]
HFCS 90 has some niche uses[23] but is mainly mixed with HFCS 42 to make HFCS 55.

Do you have proof people can reliably tell the difference in the first place?
I'm not sure either way personally, but everything I've seen so far is claiming there isn't a difference people can reliably notice and that if you think you can notice a difference you're just imagining it.

>The Coca-Cola Company is by now quite familiar with the Mexican Coke cult. It is true, acknowledges a Coke spokesman, Scott Williamson, that different sweeteners are used by the company’s bottling partners in different parts of the world, for reasons having to do with price and availability. But, he says, “all of our consumer research indicates that from a taste standpoint, the difference is imperceptible.”
>inb4 someone complains Coca-Cola is biased, I'm not saying they're right and am actively soliciting better evidence from the rest of you if you have any

Probably the same kind of people that can't tell the difference between Coke and Pepsi. You know, that thing that caused Coke to lose massive amounts of market share to Pepsi?

>>9833369
Oh man, that's why those freestyle machines taste so weird.

>> No.9833527

That's not evidence for people being able to tell the difference between HFCS and white sugar.
For one thing Coke and Pepsi don't have the same amount of calories and Pepsi has more HFCS / sugar (which is why they don't have the same amount of calories), so it's not very surprising people would pick the higher sugar content drink.
I don't know of a similar taste test ran to see if people can tell apart HFCS and white sugar when the calorie content is kept equal, which again, is why I'm asking for evidence.

>>this should sould surprize you about HFCS
if it ends in OSE IT CONTAINS SUGAR. doesnt matter what kind.
companies do it to make the food taste better.
remember if it says fat free what else have they put in it to make it taste good? the other is salt.
