I'm driving across the country and stopping in Chicago tomorrow, is there anywhere in particular I should stop by? I was already considering Malnati's but I don't know any other iconic or standout places.

This was served alongside overcooked spaghetti boiled in unsalted water, which she drowned in cheese.

I tried to help but there was no saving that fish. She was thawing the tuna while I was grinding peppercorns in a tiny fucking mortar and pestle. I told her that you sear on high heat, and that you also need some sort of oil in the pan, but she insisted that she didn't want the extra calories.

>girl says she's going to make seared tuna steaks for dinner
>frozen tuna steaks
ohboyherewego.jpg
>recipe calls for pepper crust
>no pepper grinder, just whole peppercorns and a mortar and pestle with the pestle broken in half
>grind through pepper for an hour, lose half of them, it's still not ground enough
>"oh it's fine"
>thaws tuna under warm then hot water, essentially cooking the outside
>covers them with the pepper
>throws the tuna in a cold pan on low heat
>"you sear on low heat"
>mfw everything

Tuna was cold in the middle and pretty disgusting overall.

I'm jealous. I've only eaten meat off an entire roast pig once, and I was too little to remember what it tastes like

I haven't had a problem with them, but I don't eat fast food regularly. I've only eaten there during my California roadtrips, it's one of the few things I look forward to once we hit the midwest.

>what 4chan doesn't understand is that both these two people have valid points and basis. while it's cringe worthy that they'd express it like that, it doesn't make it less true or reasonable.
