Pro tip you need fat whatever sauce you are making.

Start with the meme but also fantastic Marcella Hazan sauce base recipe.
I would add in two cloves of minced garlic(saute for 90 seconds before adding anything else) and 1/4 teaspoon of oregano

Key is use a good quality can of whole tomatoes. Cento is good but even the store brand is good if san marzano style. Look for no calcium cloride.

Cook up some linguine pasta not regular spaghetti. Its a little fancier and easier to keep it al dente.

Grill or saute some deli italian sausage. One link per person and cut it on a bias to look fancy.
Finish the pasta with some fresh grated parmesean and some fresh cut basil but not much only a little amount for mostly colour.

But the best pizza I have ever had and still have nearly weekly is Rosatis deep dish
Their pepperoni is special not sure what it is but it very very good tasting

They are much much better than they used to be.
Their new pan pizza is pretty good.
