Congrats to all the contestants who made it this far, it's been an interesting Challenge this season.

>> No.4305590 [View]

Round one is now closed for submissions! Thanks to everyone for a fantastic opening round, we've had more breakfasts over the last week than we know what to do with!

Here's a list of all the "official" entries. I might have missed a few, so if your entry isn't represented in the list, just quote this post with a link to your submission.

Get those votes in, and let's continue to have a fun challenge! I know it's pretty chaotic right now, but once we've passed these qualifier rounds and we're down to a top 15 contestants, it'll settle down a bit. Thanks again everyone.

Midnight of the 12th, after the voting for the first round is closed and the new thread is posted.

This round ends in about an hour, but the thread will remain open for two days afterwards so that every dish has plenty of time to collect votes.

It just makes it easier for me and Hearts to keep contestants organized. Rather than referring to contestant by post number or "that guy who made the eggs benedict" we can refer to contestants by their identifier.

>>4302929

As soon as it's posted. We always start off with the rule guidelines as the OP, and then the second post is the challenge for that particular round.

I will say this though, after the spectacular collection of submissions we've had for this round, I'm really excited to see what everyone does for round two.

Ok, that image got through fine, and I sent moot an IM, he said stickies don't have image limits. So I'm guessing it's like >>4302913 said perhaps?

Try saving the image as a smaller filesize?

Really? Says 162 images, plus OP would be 163. Seems like such an arbitrary number.

You can still participate in Rounds 2 and 3 if you miss this one, just be forewarned that the top 15 who go on to elimination rounds are chosen based on an average score. If you miss this round, be sure to do your best on the next two!

Round one ends at midnight central time, and the thread will be open for another two days after that for people to vote. As long as you get your entry in before midnight tomorrow, you'll be ok for this round.

>> No.4298301 [View]

>>4298283

I'm afraid not...if we started letting people re-do their submissions, all of the entries would end up in a constant state of flux when people aren't satisfied with their scores. Just stick with your entry and pull out all the stops with the next two.

>> No.4297988 [View]

Round 4 will be the first elimination round and is only open to the fifteen contestants chosen after round three. If you've missed all three qualifying rounds, I'm afraid there's no way to compete officially. But like I said, feel free to submit dishes for the fun of it, they just won't get judged.

Round 4 should start on April 8th, though.

>> No.4297902 [View]

>>4297874

Probably not. Round 2 starts on midnight of the 12th, and Round 3 starts on midnight of the 21st. You'll need as many points as possible to get into the top 15, so missing a couple rounds of the challenge can be really detrimental to your score.

Even if you don't get into the top 15 though, you can still submit dishes for fun, they just won't be voted on and you won't be in the running for the prize.

>> No.4297097 [View]

>>4296967

That would be great, thanks again.

>>4297049

No, because we would have to re-adjust our plans for all of the rounds starting with 4, which is just inviting chaos.

It's actually not too unusual to lose such a large number of people early on; happens every season in Masterchef. (And to be honest we never expected it to come to this - we planned on having to eliminate 4-5 people from the top 15, not fully half the participants)

>> No.4296855 [View]

>>4296624

We would prefer if you didn't, if it's all the same to you. The plan was to quote all the submissions semi-regularly within the thread so that people don't have to scroll, but if you wanted to do that instead, like you already have once, it would be appreciated (thanks for that by the way, it was a big help)

Also, tallying points is easier with the quote linking feature or whatever it's called, so keeping it all in one thread is the easiest way to do things for me and Hearts. And, as anon mentioned above, as soon as we get to Round 4 we'll be losing almost half of the contestants, so keeping track of everyone won't be an issue for long.

>> No.4295745 [View]

You have until midnight of the 10th to submit an entry, and then voting will be open for another two days afterwards.

>> No.4293466 [View]

>>4293461

You've got until the 10th to submit your entry for Round 1, and the first three Rounds are open to everyone. After that a top 15 is chosen based on average points, and those contestants move on to elimination rounds.

>> No.4293328 [View]

>>4293313

We understand that not everyone would be comfortable with that and we can work around it; the cash prize can be an Amazon gift card instead.

Also, you can set up a PO box for the physical items so you don't have to give your address out. If you still didn't want them we'd probably divvy them up between the second and third place winners.

No reason not to compete!

>> No.4290311 [View]

We don't have an official ruling on half points, they're easy enough to tally. So if you feel like that's an appropriate score for a dish, go for it.

>>4290128

Nah, Hearts and I get our fun by coming up with the round themes for you guys, and then figuring out the prizes and penalties that come with the later rounds of the challenge.

I honestly don't know, and neither did Hearts when I talked with her earlier about this. I've seen stickied threads go on for quite awhile without an apparent post or image limit, but I don't know if that varies from board to board or what.

If anyone else knows, feel free to chime in.
